9 months off pain pills today

The 15th is my anniversary date. 9 months has flown by.. its amazing. I am so very thankful and very lucky that I stumbled on this site when I did over a year ago. I met some amazing people.. some of them I miss very much. And some of them swing by now and then.I really believe its because of this site and the active involvement I had in the community here that got me off the pills and on to recovery. And to approach my recovery in a more open minded way.
Its great to not worry about taking pills all day. To go to bed with a clear conscious. To not have to count how many I have left to make sure I will get through til refill day. To sleep more soundly than I ever have. To have my amazing friends back in my life. To take the time to hang out with my husband instead of pulling away so I could feel sorry for myself alone. I have extra money to put towards my business, my family, and also to help me manage my Fibromyalgia. Now I can get extra massages and other treatments when I need them.  Its been a very rewarding journey.

I hope everyone that truely wants recovery and to learn a new way of life sticks around this forum, that they get into helping others, and that they dive head first into recovery the way I did.
If I can ever do anything for anyone out there in forum-ville please don't hesitate to message me.

Much Love,
Stephanie

Congratulations Stephanie and thank you for such an inspiring story! I am also one who stopped taking pain pills after finding this forum, although I am 8 months behind you. It's my not so humble opinion that its really these stories of real testimony, from real addicts that gives others hope that they too can make it. Thanks for paying it forward :)
Take care, and nice to "meet" you!
Peace~

Good Am Stephanie!  As always...kudos to you!  I am always so happy to hear from you and your accomplishments!  Doesn't it feel great!?  I can't imagine going back to where I was a year ago!  I may have relapsed since that time but have not fallen down the rabbit hole...I keep picking myself up and moving ahead!  Do you believe there is such a thing as little relapses and really BIG relapses?????  I don't know how I feel about that but I do know that recovery is the most important thing in my life....you are a great inspiration for me Steph.....Thanks!
Peace!

I think we came on about the same time and have chatted a bit. I am so VERY proud of you and you accomplishments. Just goes to show that WE are the ones in control, although it sometimes doesn't feel that way. I, on the other hand, failed back then but I didn't actually know I had a problem. When I got that part figured out, I was determined to let them go and flushed. I had some W/D's in the beginning but I was also battling Strep, so who knows what was the cause. I wouldn't go to the dr. as I knew he would give me pain meds. I ended up going to Urgent Care one night and they gave me antibiotics. Did you have a problem with your body temp?

I feel like we graduated college together. The class of June 07.
A year ago, I found this forum because I was sick and scared. You, CATUF, Beachtowel, and the others taught me all about my addiction. I finally gave up doing it my way, and decided to follow others that came before me.(cat and beach). Then there was you.Someone who was willing to help me and everyone else with every little detail of their recovery. There really are no words to thank you enough. As you know, I give the Aminos all the credit for me not having  all the mood and head problems 2-3 months out. I bought the End Your Addiction Now book about a month ago. I don't think I read anything that you did not type in the forum. I think you typed the whole book in here..lol
Note to others. Fladdict is a Sub. success.(only 10 days). Cat and beach did the rehab. I did the c/t and Thomas Recipe. This forum has all the options for you to get clean.Make a plan, stick to it, and get after care.
God Bless You Steph. See you at 10 months.
