Today is day 2! Can't seem to shake this fog I'm in...but oh well. I actually feel Suprisingly a little better, but I'm sure the worst is to come. Everything I've read says days 3-4 are the worst. I can't wait til this is over, I never want to endure this EVER again!
...but you are getting closer to being finished with detox as each hour passes. You started this thread 6 hours ago! You're doing it. I too used Norco 10s - 8 to 10 a day for over two years. My detox was hell. A week from tomorrow I'll be 9 months clean. But during days 3 & 4 I could never have imagined sitting here, writing to you. Hundreds have made it. Lets add your name to the list. Keep posting.
Support is everything right now. It keeps getting worse & worse by the hour.
I looked up the Thomas recipe. You guys think it would still be useful without the benzos? I just do NOT feel comfortable using another pill to help this!
New to the community.. thanks guys for sharing your stories. 22 days off a 80-100 mg. Oxy habit. Went cold turkey. Did the Thomas recipe with some additions... to sleep I use something called " knock out". It works... got it at the vitamin store. It's melatonin, theanine and velarian... gets me about a good 6 hours and its reduced my anxiety and sweats. Also added gaba... great for that gnawing anxiety.
hey girlie Your never alone on this site Love ya
Thanks you guys, very helpful & encouraging to know I'm not alone in this!

Thank you so much for your responses, guys!! I have tried sleeping pills for helping sleep, it just seems like I wake up like every 10 minutes! By the way, Vicki595, there was no link. What is a Thomas recipe?
Kyle505, I do not have any more pills for that very reason. I tried tapering off of them about a week ago with the help of my sister, until one day I found out where she kept them & needless to say I ran out quickly. This is honestly one of the hardest things I've ever had to do!
If you still have pills you need to get rid of them, if you want to go cold turkey. If you don't, you will give in, i.e., take one to help you sleep, to stop the anxiety, and on and on. If you have to work for the next two days it might be better to try a taper. But most of us can't cut back by ourselves; we need someone we can trust to hold the meds and give them to us per the schedule.
Bottom line, if you still have pills, or have access to pills (refills) the the odds are against you. Our heads start yelling at us; the mental part of detox is much, much harder than the physical part.
As far as the withdrawals go, try to stay nourished; eat a lot. If you can't eat, try drinking Enusre. If you're visiting the bathroom, get a drink with electrolytes added. You need fuel for what you're going through.
Hi Shelly- You can try the usual things like Benadryl, NyQuil, melatonin, etc...for sleep. Those things should work.
Look at the Thomas Recipe for ideas of what can help you feel better. Scroll down, lower right for the link.
Stay hydrated and be sure to eat. It makes a big difference. I don't know how you'll be working for the next two days...the optimum would be to have a few days off to take care of yourself. More questions?
