Addction to Suboxone

I have been addicted to opiates for 3 1/2-4 years now, I started off taking 2-4 Hydrocodone 10's a day, and then that turned into 15-20 then 25-30/ day.  Well I have been taking 25-30 a day for about the past 2 1/2 years.  This is an addiction I struggle with daily, its almost exhausting how I can think of nothing other than thoughts about the drug or the addiction.  Well my friend who I used to do the tabs with was taking 50/day and ended up switching to Heroin.  Well he hit rock bottom and ended up in rehab.  They prescribed him suboxone and that has helped him tremendously, hes doing better now that ever.  Now he will give me some suboxone to help ween myself off tabs when I get the urge to quit...Now my problem is I feel as if im addicted to suboxone, I take 16mg per day when i get them from him as that amount takes away all my anixiety and restlessness when im coming down from the Tabs.  Has anyone one on here felt them selves becomine addicted to Suboxone and if so how did you go about helping yourslef with that?

Welcome...  I have never taken sub , but was addicted to lortabs too..I just wanted to tell you that i see a counsouler, who specializes in addiction..I can tell you that it has helped me more then i ever thought..I know 100% that without seeing her, and this forum, I would not have the clean time i have..
You can do this, and life is sooo much better this way...The other way we all know ends up a couple ways, jail, and death!!   Also, I am sure you are aware that the amount of tylenol you are consuming is deadly..I still worry about my liver and what i have done to it, but it is an organ that can repair itself somewhat if you stop..
Wishing you the best!!

I do have the urge to quit and have done so before (the best I have done in the past was 8 months clean) but I now know that i need help, cold turkey isnt going to work.  I wish i could go to the Dr's but i dont have health insurance and Im just barely making it.  I have used poppy seed tea to help with the W/D symptoms in the past and that helped, but again I started to get addicted to that.  Have you ever gone to see a therapist, I think being able to talk to someone would be a HUGE help but I have never done anything like that and im not accustom to talking about my issues I usually just keep them inside and use to forget.

Suboxone is not just a pill, it is a program. You need to be under a doctor's care, which should consist of counseling and meetings. It is not only about healing physically, but healing mentally.

You can find a doctor in your area at the Suboxone website. Google it.
