Addicted to Subutex?

I have been taking more subutex than my Dr. has prescribed for me on a daily basis, I think because I am unemployed and bored, and anxious about my financial situation.  Now I only have a couple of tablets left, and my next appointment is not until Dec. 5...obviously, I can't wait that long, because I will get very sick and will not be able to sleep.  I am debating whether to call my Dr. tomorrow and tell him what is going on, or whether I should make up an excuse why I need a refill now, like someone stole them from my purse, or they fell in the toilet, etc.  I have a pretty good relationship with my Dr. and have been seeing him for years now, and he has given me early refills before.  I am starting school on Dec. 10, and I think once I am involved with that and have something to do everyday, and not being able to go into the bathroom whenever I want and take some more, I will be able to maintain myself.  It's just when I have nothing to do all day, and then I wake up feeling really anxious about my situation, it starts all over again.  What do you think I should tell my Dr.?

Definately tell your doctor the truth. Trust me, doctors/pharmacies have heard every single story in the world. I would tell my doctor all kinds of stuff to get my prescription early. I think she always knew I was making it up. Hopefully, your doctor will help you deal with this. Good luck!

You need to get honest with your doctor.  How long have you been taking Sub?

I would tell your doctor rather than lie. Getting honest is part of battling addictive behavior. If you can't stretch what you have, them you have to do something. It's a crap shoot either way, but being honest won't create another reason to feel guilt. Do you go to meetings or therapy. I suggest you get in a program to fill your time and deal with why you use drugs to battle boredom. Subs are it, there is no drug to help get off those. I hope you learn new coping skills and make serious changes.
