Addicted to tramadol/oxy. First time

I have been taking about 8 tramadol and a few oxy the last year and tomorrow is my first day with nothing. I'm ready to beat this. I have all the Thomas recipe suggestions minus the benzos. Any suggestions? I'm real nervous. Terrified actually.

Whew, yes...cold turkey is hard, but doable.  Thomas Recipe is a great start.  I did it without the benzos as well..who needs another thing to detox from?  The tramadol may be your hardest one to deal with.  It works   a little differently than oxy, etc.  I hope other who are more familiar with it will chime in.  Weekends can be slow..hopefully they will be here soon.  Keep close to the board.  It will help.

Have you looked up lopeamide for withdrawal? I was addicted to tramadol for 3 years and have been off for 4 months using the lope to help kick withdrawal symptoms. You have to use more than the recommended dose I would take about 10 2mg tablets every 12 hrs for 3 days. It will help with the restlessness and sleep. Keep In mind I'm not a dr. This is my own experience. It worked for me but everyone is different. I'm here if you need anymore advice or just need support!

Hi  and welcome to the forum...well you came to a great place to kick  we do home detox every day around here.....for starters this is all about attitude a positive attitude goes a long way it makes the difference between being uncofortable and suffering ... suffring is a choice....try not to let fear into the equasion it is always worst in our minds then it turns out to be  this is 1/3 phyical and 2/3 mental so be ready to fight it out on both fronts....I have said this a million times but ''you just got to be ok without being ok for a wile'' this should be your mantra for the next few days.....as for supplys the thomas resipe is a great start  add a case of gator aid to it your going to need to force the fluids  rent a buch of movies it will give you something to do wile your up all night   most people dont sleep  as for the symptoms a hot soak will help with most of them you may need several a day keep posting for support where all here for you

What an awesome decision you have made to quit!!!  It will be one of the best decisions in your life!!!
So glad you got the stuff for the Thomas recipe!  And you got lots of good advice above too!!!  It was true for me too that even though WD is hard it is so much better than I had it made out to be in my mind!   I did LOTS of crossword puzzles, read hundreds of posts on here, watched lots of movies and took lots of walks with the dog!  Even though it was cold out when I detoxed too it was still really, really good for me to be outside even if only for 10 minutes!!
And keep on posting!  I posted at least once a day for my first week and it helped so much!!!  You will find lots of support and wisdom here!!!
Hurray for you!!!!    ♡

That's perfectly ok. You do what makes you feel comfortable. I have been though it with the lope to. For me to start feeling better was about a week, but to actually start feeling like myself again was about 2-3. Everyone one is different though. Exercise is a great way to get your bodies natural good feeling juices to get pumping again. You can also take a multivitamin to help your body heel. Hope you are feeling a little better each day. I know it might seem extremely hard but you CAN get though this. I kept a journal of how I was feeling everyday and kept telling myself when this is over I will never have to go though this again. Being off pills is the most amazing feeling in thebworld!!!

Sorry it's taking a while to reply been a little busy and no problem I have been in your shoes and it's so nice to talk to others who have been there. Tom is my nieces bday as well lol. I'm glad your not feeling too bad. Usually the first and second day are horrible so it sounds to me like this isn't gonna be as horrible as you thought. Each day gets better and better and by Sunday you should be over alot of the physical stuff and have a little more energy. Like I said everyone is different so maybe your body is handling it well. Can I ask how old you are and what was your usual dosage a day? If you don't mind.

Also it is amazing to finally be off the pills. You get all your own energy back and you don't wake up every morning wondering if your gonna have enough pills to get through the day. Your mind is clear again and you start to remember all the things you used to love doing before the pills. You can make plans and trips and not have to stress out about the damn pills lol it feels like freedom and eventual you do forget about them. Just my advice is to stay away from people or places you used to get them from cuz it can be tempting but don't give in. Just remember what you went though..

Hi Polly..
How are YOU today?
You are one, of many lucky ones, as you did not use for yrs & yrs and you are young and healthy. That is a big plus on your side. One thing with the Trams is that they have a Chem in them that hits the Serotonin transmitter in the brain. SO this would be like detoxing off 2 pills instead of 1 and you did the oxys too. Keep your self re-directed as best you can and drink tons of fluids. Eat healthy and take some good vit/min. Proteins/Amino-acids will be good for those brain chems. Pray you are feeling much better and give yourself a pat on the back that you caught this sooner then way later.  Cheering for you all the way!
Bless
Vickie
