I think it depends on how much and how long you were taking the meds. For me it took a full 2 weeks to get to about 50% and then better at 3 weeks and today is a month w/o and I feel like I am at 85%. It also depends on your pain level. My pain is often very present and I have to take more rests (like I am doing now). I took norce + soma and although it made me a drowsy, it masked the pain so I could power through and that made me more "energetic" but in the end, my body really suffered because of it. Now I know for real where my energy level is at and if I am tired or in pain, I honor that and take a break.....and that's a good thing! I figure in time, things will fall into place.
Time will help with most problems. It takes a month to see some return and gradually over the next few months it should get better. B12 is a great suggestion. For me at 12 months clean...I see a great improvement. Just be sure to get some mild exercise everyday. If you live in a winter like climate...getting enough sun should be part of your regimen or taking a D vitamin may help.
hi....yes the hydros gave me energy too...just put my mind in a euphoric state that i wanted to get stuff done....
and i take the B12 liquid sublingual....it does help i think...took awhile to get into my system but seems to help....i don't do the energy drinks cuz i hate the jitters...not a coffee drinker either....but i find that the more i do, the more energy i have.....then you will sleep better. I also take a multivitamin as well and Vit C. It did take awhile for my energy to come back tho...about a month....but i was taking alot of hydros a day for a long time. So it took longer for me to get adjusted....still adjusting really. But hang in there it will come back!
It sounds crazy but Vicodin was a stimulant for me too! Now that I have not taken a Vicodin since Dec my energy comes and goes on phases. I find the liquid B 12 effective I also have my Dr inject B 12 monthly as I have a deficiency of it. BTW my Dr does not know about my opiate affair. I tried the L tyrosine some use for energy but it made me have a nervous uneasy feeling... I don't drink coffee so I am not really a caffeine person.. Try a good multi and the B 12
Hard questions. I'm sure someone with more info will come but I do know that opiates affect chemicals in the brain like endorphines and can give you energy. As for how long b4 you get energy back that depends on how long, how much, you have been doing and how healthy your body is. Make sure if you can't eat that you get nutrients/water in your body daily. Instant breakfast is easy to get down. Maulti vitamin will help too. Withdraw is an assault on the body so we need to help our bodys as best as possible. Not sure on supplements for energy. I drank energy drinks. They are lil hard on ya too. Causes tremors but for me I needed the energy to get through the day and lived with being a shaky mess.
I'm sure someone will come with more info for you. I'm still figuring stuff out myself so I certainly don't have all the answers.

Good question! Loss of energy is a common complaint among those who are quitting pharmaceutical opiates. I personally got a huge amount of energy from hydrocodone. I never really took it as a "downer", it was most definitely a stimulant for me. I am at about six months clean. My experience was that I was completely lethargic for about ten days. Then between 10-40 days I gradually climbed back to about 80% capacity. Then between 1-4 months I got that final 20% back. Diet and exercise are key to give you the building blocks you need to generate your own energy. And I had a lot of luck with 5-hour-energy. I liked it because it was low calorie and sugar free. It's a fair amount of caffeine though, so beware if you're sensitive to that. Hope that helps!
