After 22 years your whole lifestyle needs to change. People you hang with, places you go things you do.
Recovery is a marathon not a sprint.
You can detox a 1000x staying clean is where the rubber meets the road.
Go to meetings everyday, they suggest 90 in 90.
Counseling, church, exercise regiment, new hobbies.
It takes at least two months of repeated behavior to establish a new routine.
and when all that fails I put on my shoes and I run, I turn the music up and I run and I cry and I run some more
I call my sponsor, grand sponsor, sponcee sisters, go to peoples houses and talk, fellowship, work steps, meditate, hit my knees, and pray, I call every person in my phone and by the J's I start to feel better. I invite people to coffee, I use every tool known and i dont use no matter what! I share in meetings and I have been known to hit 2 or 3 a day when time permits!
Coming here and typing whatever is on your mind helps a ton...at least it's really helped me. Not just typing, but reading other people stories helps keep me focused, motivated and distracted! :)
