In this post im gunna vent a little so if your not into that stuff i suggest to not read this post.. lol

im tired man.. the last months before coming off i felt my body was really suffering, I would wake up feeling not good even when i had pills I wasnt getting high... and I just feel like its been forever since i felt " good "  and its messing with me... I know 8 days isnt forever but its enough days of suffering to start to maybe lose some hope as to feeling better.. and with a sub w/d its not unusual to batlle many more days I know...maybe im just looking for some support? I know NA meetings sponser im just not there just yet.

the symptoms im struggling with are... maybe 3 hours sleep at night.. i just cant turn my brain off i get songs stuck in my head for hours plus still got the restless legs. Non stop chills and very thin skin, when im outside and theres wind i feel asthough its blowing right through me chilling me to the bone if that makes sense..crazy morning bowel movements.. still pretty out of breath alot of the time..morning time anxiety attacks where you start thinking real negative and you have to fight depression. The lack of sleep is a struggle! I just want releif im sorry for b*****in

I havent givin up just tired... ( if im so tired why cant i sleep? I have no idea.. lol)  If anyone wants to post maybe they have felt the same way.. that might help to read.. thank you everyone!! trully all of you are amazing people!! trev

Hi- first off, congrats on 8 days!!!
You are NOT alone in this. I'm feeling the same as you after a long taper off methadone, and am now on day 7 of finally breaking free from that nasty drug! I'm sick of feeling sick too! The last few months of my taper wasn't easy, not to mention the last 7 days but we gotta keep reminding ourselves that it's only temporary. I imagine the day where I wake up and feel great WITHOUT having to take something to get my day started!
I have followed gnarlys advice by taking the 3 in 1 vitamin Zinc, Magnessium, and Calcium. I take 4 right when I wake, and another 4 mid day/early evening. Being an addict I didn't think a simple vitamin would do much but I was dead wrong! The last few milligrams of my taper was easier than the rest simply because I started taking these. I also drink one or two protein shakes a day like he recommended.
Even though my body wants to do nothing, my brain is telling me to get up and move around. I finally got myself off the couch and just spent the last 2 hours swimming and relaxing in my pool. I feel so much better! Laying around makes me feel worse. It literally took me a week to get my lazy self up to do this but now that I have, I understand what everyone means when they tell us to try and get up and move around. I felt so weak and light headed getting my suit on but that feeling is gone... For now anyway.
Sleep, or lack thereof... ***** for me too. I was lucky enough to get a doctor to prescribe me clonodine, a blood pressure med and that seems to help a little at night. Nights are always the worse... Restless, muscle aches, and I'm getting massive headaches. Due to a long drawn out taper, I guess I'm getting used to feeling like this so the smallest thing, or few minutes of relief, tricks me into thinking I'm feeling "good" when in reality, I have a ways yet before I can really say I feel good. But that's ok. It WILL happen eventually!
Hang in there... Try the vitamins and epson salt baths, and try to move around a little. Even going for a drive and blaring my music feels better than laying on my couch all day.
Sending hugs your way!! Dee

I know, it $ucks,  BUT, you have come soooo far and we all promise you it WILL get better!  Just know that what you are going thru are exactly the same things we all survived and we aren't any better or stronger than you.  Keep pushing thru and know this is temporary.  You will be getting your sleep and energy back soon.  I used this great magnesium powder supplement called Natural Calm that helps relax as well as helps with the rls. Other than that, the Epsom salt baths if you can really help.  I so relate to songs playing thru your head.  I also remember being up in the middle of the night, on the couch, watching "That 70's Show" reruns for days on end.
You got this friend!  Keep on moving forward one day, hour, moment at a time!

Hi!!! I wanted to offer you some support. And reading your post brought me back to my first couple of weeks UGH and boy was it awful. But here I am 5 months clean and I feel pretty good, don't get me wrong I have bad days but I am SO SO much better and its a great feeling. First off - Sleep is usually the last to return ... Try keeping yourself busy at night try reading or soft music or music in general ... I think for my first month I had headphones in constantly. It got me out of my head (A LOT). Also sleep whenever you can I remember not falling asleep until 3:30 am and waking up at 6 to go to work, it totally sucked but it gets better I PROMISE YOU that!
The chills I had for a good couple of weeks I was cold and felt like I had a fever for a while. This will pass too I promise you! As far as the nasty bowel movements let it go LOL - Your body is cleaning out all those nasty toxins that we put in there for so long. (I know that sounds gross). But it is true! Keep yourself busy I know it ***** trust me I know. Even if you go for a slow walk around the block it will help you!!!
Please keep posting and VENT AWAY that's why we are here - to help you!!!!

I am on day 26 of Norco free!! I started to feel normal around day 13 or 14, started sleeping 6 hours straight.  I felt really good on day 20. I was using for about 5 years, 8 to 12 10/325 norco a day. Symptoms vary for each person. just hang in there. Around the same time as you I experienced a lot of different emotions. Your brain is learning to function again. Just make sure to hydrate, eat healthy , take vitamins, and exercise. I know you may not feel like it but just go for a walk. You need to get the endorphins and adrenalin going again. Stay positive, your thru the hard part. It will get better each day!!!

Yes, lack of sleep was my number one reason for relapse!  I was on other opiates, but still...

I know subs take awhile to recover from compared to some of the others...so you may have a while to wait for a good nights sleep...
I personally believe the other symptoms you are feeling now such as chills and funky bowel are more a result of lack of sleep at this point...not sleeping takes a great toll on the body...but it will get better, one second, minute, hour, day, week, month, year at a time...i promise you that...if you put the effort in just to stay clean, the reward will be there, but you have to be patient (i know, not exactly what we want to hear, but it's the truth)

I wish you much luck...

Peace through Vandalism
