Off Vicodin for nearly a month

I am hoping someone may be able to help me decide if what I am feeling is normal or do I need to see a doctor.  I have been off vicodin now for nearly 30 days (4-6 per day - no more than 40 mgs) .... Each day I wake up feeling worse than the day before in some instances.  My legs and sometimes arm have a deep burning feeling along with aching.  I have tried every over the counter remedy and nothing helps.  Last night I could not fall asleep because of the pain.  I would think that after 30 days I wouldn't still be in pain. I know that living with this pain is getting to me.....HELP!!

I was prescribed Vicodin for lower back pain (arthritis).  I was taking approximately 40mg per day for about 4-5 years.  I have quit on and off over the years but never for longer than maybe 2 months because the pain gets overwhelming. Now I not only have the back pain but as I was explaining I also have pain (deep burning and throbbing) in both legs and sometimes my arms.  I would think that I should be feeling great about right now since it has been 30 days.  So you start thinking have I been masking another problem like fibromyalgia, lupus etc.  Could it be that it is just taking a long time for me to feel normal .....or worse yet "this" is normal I just didn't know it.

Id go see a doc if I were you. If you have been off the Vics for 30 days, I dont see why you would be feeling worse.

Good luck

Where you prescribed the Vicodin for pain? How long were you taking it?
