What can I do to help my boyfriend with the withdrawl effects of Suboxone?

My boyfriend was opiate dependent for several years. Mainly Oxys I believe. He has been taking Suboxone for about 9 months. I believe it's 8 mg twice a day?? I hope that sounds right, but sometimes he could get by with just taking half that lately. He lost his job though and wasn't able to purchase any at the pharmacy this week so he has been out of them for 3 days. He is extremely moody and irritable, lethargic, forgetful, unfocused, it almost seems like he is high, he is "out of it". He says he feels horrible and that the withdrawl can last up to 15 days, Is this correct? Is there anything I can give him or help him with this. It is making my life hell at the moment. I am trying to be understanding, so that's why I am trying desperately to learn what is going on with him.

hello.  this is day 18 of my husband being off prescription pain pills.  he chose to do the "white knuckle" approach.  while i will say it has been a hard thing to watch, i am slowly seeing signs of him coming back to me.  we read on here a recipe that suggest taking daily suppliments.  we found that B6, a multi vitamin and L-Thysorine have been helpful for the withdrawl.  with having said that, from all that i have read there is no easy answer for getting clean.  i have learned that you both just have to take it one day at a time.  i don't truely know what he is going through but i do know exactly what you are experiencing.  if you need anything i'm here.

my boyfriend just got on subs. he thinks he knows what he is doing and the dr told him to take 2 a day. he decided that wasn't working for him and started taking 6 a day.

anyway if your boyfriend could find a way to get to the dr to get more. i know you said he lost his job but if he was let go he should still have medical. if not he could call his dr and see what they could work out.

my dr told my bf that if he messed with the dosages it's uneffective and pointless to even take the suboxone.

good luck with the whole being understanding thing. my man has been addicted for 12 years and i have been with him for 6 of those. sometimes i don't know where i get the patiance from because when i look back i don't know how i got through it.

if he is a good person trying to do the right thing you could be the one to help him see the light at the end of the tunnel, good luck.
