I was in this area and saw this. I came off of 16 years on the pain pills. first i was doing hydr&oxy then went to a 12 yr methedone. Then the last 3 years I was snorting adderral and taking a benzo at night. I went cold turkey 5 months ago. It was the hardest thing i experienced but the most rewarding. I went threw a lot of stages of withdraws. I am a 56 yr old female. I think it depends on your age and how long and how much and compo of drugs you use too. I would highly recomend that you do a taper with the doctor. Yes they use the clonodine is used by alot of the doctors. I used it for a month after a month only at night to help sleep. I highly recomend vit/min. I use liquid. I take magniz,D,Cal from plant at night and I sleep good. I go to meetings and I study the map of the brain, because for me It is going to take a year or two to get all the transmitter firing up again. I am still going threw a weak stage but I went to doctor today to have blood checked just to make sure nothing is damaged. Most of the recoving people say it took them a year or so to feel right. but the disese of addiction is forever. I watch alot of videos on this. I will say the info I am learning is keeping me off drugs/booze. I can not take back my years of use but I sure wish I knew then what I know now. KEEP ON TRUCKIN I PROMISE IT GETS BETTER DAY BY DAY AND NICE TO HAVE A CLEAR HEAD AND OUT OF THE FOG---GOD BLESS

Be careful not to over think the process. You are definitely on the lower end of use, but every body had a different detox. It's easy to create symptoms with your mind. Good idea having the pills on the person holding them. I found the stash also. At your level of use, and the taper, you should no have severe symptoms. I'm guessing, but a week of cold/flu like symptoms and then you'll start to feel better and better. Try not to anticipate what you are going to feel like. I know, not easy, but when the mind craves it will create symptoms to get what it wants. The vitamins, minerals, and amino acids helped me more than anything. You getting closer by the minute.
whats up are you around ? im feeling more crapier every day , the feelings are being more often. Nausea ,pressure on my chest like someone sitting on you. chills sleepy, there happening more often , i shoveled the driveway today, i dont know if that had something to do with it?
Weaning DOES help with making withrdrawl mild.also yes clonidine helps a lot.u r on a low does and with clonidine and some immodium u will experience pretty mild withdrawl. Aftercare
I tapered from 60mg a day to 10mg and getting below 25mg freaked me out too. Looking back my symptoms were mild compared to some of what I have read here, but to me it seemed like the end of the world. Your mind plays tricks on you! I am 17 days clean now, and the first week was not fun but I am stil here!! You cant predict how you will feel...I actually had to step away from the boards bc other peoples experiences were freaking me out. For example I became terrified at the thought of not sleeping for weeks but in reality I was able to sleep through the night fairly quickly. And yes the Clonidine really did help. I should have gotten the immodium, I regret not. You can absolutely do this, none of us are more gifted at withdrawing than you ;)
Hi there :) I agree with weaver..don't over think this too much. In Gothenburg grand scheme of things, does it really matter if you're in the mild use category or the moderate use category. Everyone's response to drugs, and detox, is different and it is really so hard to put urself in a concrete category anyway. That being said, the important thing is that you're doing the right thing- your tapering to quit. I'm sure you've already read this- but use the ingredients in the Thomas recipe they really help when ur in the thick of things. Keep going, it'll be over before you know it. Walks or some sort of exercise help, too!
Lol in the grand scheme...
That was a funny auto-correct! Gotta love it!
Haha I know that made me chuckle!
I was on clonidine for my blood pressure ,actually i was on it most of my time being on methadone. Dont know if that makes a difference? My doctor took me off of it , because my heart rate was to low. ponco
I guess the reason I wanted to know if weaning puts you at a lower category of wd symptoms is true. I assume by weaning I'm giving my brain and body A chance to adjust to the lower dose with hopes the wd is not horrid. Yesterday was 30 mg and I had wds, my fault I took half am then half mid day and by 4 pm rls and the crawlies started. I took half clonidine and helps with the rls cause it knocked me out.
I went to ER A week ago due to my lower legs swelling like crazy. They were hoorid. All tests came back just fine. But last night my legs blew up again, I'm not overweight and Scared me to death, not that I need another reason to produce anxiety. I drank lots of water but I know the legs will swell again. I never ever had this issue. I was on methadone for 8 days 40 mg a month ago and stopped ct. Not for me. Maybe a side effect I don't know. I don't know if this is normal or should go back to ER as this is my only worry. I am struggling a bit with the 30 mg a day but this time spreading them out. If it was not the worry for the leg swelling I think I could get through this but I'm scared of why this is happening.... Day 2 30 mg today. Hoping I can ease into wd with the least amount of pain. ThAnks for the comments.
