First real test is today!

This is the day that I have been worried about, my first day back to work. I work nights and pills have always got me through my work night, but tonight WILL BE the first night I go without. It's been a total of 13 days clean and I got this. I already feel anxious about it, but I will do this. I'm watching my son play and he is my number 1 reason why I will conquer this horrible addiction! To all that are fighting these demons, keep positive and let's keep pushing forward!

I'm now 2 weeks clean and I'm very proud of that! I made it through my first night of work sober and even though I was so tired when I walked out of the plant I felt very empowered. Thank you all for your kind words and encouragement.

No scaredmama, you're an inspiration, actually every person on this thread is! I'm sitting in the parking lot and already feel better than I did earlier, I know how proud I will feel at 430am when I walk out of here clean for the first time in a really long time. Time to get dirty, yes I'm talking about work! Haha! Got to keep my dry humor going!

The cool thing about those scary tests, is how we feel, after we go through the struggle and succeed. Each time we succeed, we just feel stronger and stronger. That is the exciting part of these challenges, how free we feel, as we don't give in and still live through it. You got this, just keep your eyes on the prize, drugs could never make you feel as good as sticking to your morals, there is simply no way to get THAT kind of pleasure any other way than being the best you that you that you can. Drugs become a threat to the awesome life we manifest in recovery, don't forget that. Congrats on your progress so far, it just keeps getting better.

Thanks! I know I can do this! Every "first" is going to be tough, I've been through it with smoking so I know what to expect. Re learn is a great way to put it! I'm going to keep my phone out and with every urge I'm going to look at a picture of my family and remember why im fighting to keep clean! I have to be clean in mind, body and spirit for us, no other way to be!

Hurray for your 13 days!!!!  That is awesome!!!  It was strange going back to work for me too!  The first day back I went to my pocketbook during the day to get a pill out and then smacked myself in the head!  Old habits die hard!!!!  You will do fine though....Its just learning a new way of living!!!  Keep posting and let us know how you are doing!!
