Been a long time!

Just wanted to stop in and say hey to all my MH friends. It's been a long time and I'm so sorry for that. So much has happened in the last 9 months, I can barely keep up. Which is a good thing....I think! It keeps me and my mind occupied.

Today makes 392 days off methadone. One year and 27 days...how awesome is that! :) I am still going strong although I've had a few health scares lately. I did have surgery in December and had to fill a prescription for 25 Vicodin, and I felt terrible for that, but the pain just wouldn't allow me to go thru it with Tylenol. But I'm back to my normal self now (well as normal as I'll ever get!:))

For any of you reading this that are just beginning your journey to a new life.....stick with it. It ***** at times, but the results are ohhhh soooo worth it. I almost can't remember what life was like on methadone, and I took it for over 8 years. That just tells you how much of a "fog" I was in I guess...sad but true.

And all my old MH friends, I really am sorry for not staying in touch, but just know that I still think about all of you all the time! You got me through one of the toughest times of my life and I will be forever grateful for that. Love to you all! ~Sweetness

Thanks Gnarly! I'm not even sure what brought me here tonight...maybe having a year under my belt had me thinking about how it was for me and how many other people are just now starting to  kick it, and that a positive post in the midst of them all may just renew their determination. It's been great, I can still honestly say after all this time, that I don't crave it at ALL...and I'm really thankful for that.  I think once you set your mind to it and decide that it's something that holds you back, personally, mentally, & financially, and that it affects every aspect of your life, it's just not worth it at the end of the day. I remember you telling me once that there is life w/o and after methadone, and I'm pretty sure I thought you were crazy at that time, but you were right! And I am so glad I listened to you! I've missed you my friend :)
