hi. i am sorry if this is in the wrong section, was unsure of where to put it.


anyway. my question is : what would happen if someone took (about) 20 ml of morphine sulfate(concentrated), which is 20 mg per ml? I got some m.s. from someone, and never asked how much was "safe", though, i do realize taking it at all is unsafe unless  directed by a doctor.

i took this amount yesterday, within a 2 hr period. lastnight i vomitted a lot, was too scared to go to the hospital (another stupid move i know) if i feel good, should i still go to the hospital?  i also fell asleep for a few hrs, luckily on my stomach,

please, i am not asking to get called names, even though i deserve it.


p.s. i am not an addict. i only took this because i was in pain. i got it from a guy without asking about it. i do not do any drugs, i hardly ever drink.

I just finneshed detoxing From Ms Eslon with Aka Morphine sulfate Was precribed  200mg 4 times a day . you have no idea how luck you are if u took 600mg of morphine that dose would be for some one that has a hudge opiate tolerance like myself . My brother stole one of my 200mg capsule and od and ended up in the hospital with narcan ive taken up wards of 1400 mg at one and well im glad i told my dr I wanted off . beware I just went threw a week of hell and no sleep its not worth the hi

Addiction is not even at play here.....but you do need some education...you took way too much...100mg is a heavy dose....in the future you better find out about the relief before you get it in your body....you are very very lucky.........hope that luck continues for you.......might be the time to buy a lottery ticket...........................................

hey, that's pretty strong medicine to start out with unless you've tried other less addictive drugs.  I've got two herniated discs.  I started with norco's to percocetts and then the morphine.  It was a gradual addiction for me, and I'm glad to hear you're not addicted.  Frankly, I would suggest that you try to get on something lighter.  Unless you've been down the road before, it's like you've made the jump to opium without first trying pot.  I would be terribly conservative with the morphine.

i went to the hospital and they tell me i must have gotten the dosage wrong. they said the lethal dose is 100-300 mg of morphine sulfate, what i took in was 600 mg. however, on the bottle is clearly states 30mL and 20 mg per mL. i drank it all.

then they said i must have vomitted it all out before it took effect. this isn't true. it was hrs before i even felt sick, more than enough time for the morphine to get into my blood stream.

either way, i am happy to be alive. i am not , as i already said, a drug user. i took it because i was in pain, it was convienent. now i know better.

I just spoke to a doctor, he told me it was a "miracle" I was still alive. He said the amount I took, in the time I took it, should have killed me.

i am heading to the hospital now, he wants to have a look at me.

here is what I can find I don't know enough about morphine to tell you how worried you should be i will say the fact that you are up and moving is a good sign.

Highly concentrated, conventional, preservative-free morphine sulfate injections intended for continuous epidural or intrathecal infusion via a controlled-microinfusion device (e.g., Infumorph® 10 or 25 mg/mL) are not recommended for IV, IM, or sub-Q administration of individual doses of the drug because of the large amount of morphine sulfate contained in each ampul (200 mg/20 mL, 500 mg/20 mL) and the attendant risk of substantial overdosage.

it not a matter of whether you are an addict or not you put something in your body without knowing how much was safe . Is there someone with you .I think you should be fine .if you start vomiting uncontrollably start slurring badly any type of OD symptom's then by all mean plz get to a doctor .

I see, i am an involuntary addict. i too use it so  i can lead a productive life with minimal pain.  The 600mgs is maybe why u got so sick. it is a HUGE shock to the system.  you may even experience withdraw from it but i'm not sure on that. See my other post if u want more info on how withdraw feels : /

I just found out a few minutes ago, the dose I took was around 600 mg.

You're lucky you're alive bro!! I got blown into a cinder block wall and was on 30mg MS QID, they switched me to Dilaudid 8mg QID and soma as a muscle relaxer.  You were a ******* and we've all been there. I was a trainwreck when I got combat retired from the Army after 16yrs. I had no idea I had severe PTSD and Hypervigilance and if you know military folks we drink a lot and add on the opiates and I was a ticking bomb. I literally wouldn't be here if not for my loving wife, who put up with a fuckton of my stupid ****. Be very wary of **** you get on the street. Chances are it's laced with Fentanyl. I didn't take it for anxiety, I took it because it was there, and my back was hurting really bad.

I only put this question here because someone told me. I am not an "addict". I don't take drugs in order to cope with life.

Hey, as a current HEAVY morphine addict i know how u feel. my doctor says "pain is inevitable, suffering isn't" and i completely agree with that, but, read my post if u wan tto hear my story, i know when my mother had her 2nd back surgery they had her on the morphine system where u click a button and stuff and she was just super nausea and they said she had an allergy to it so they gave her dilauded or w/e but later we learned it was just her diabetes.  i am NOT sure about the ML to MGS conversion as i have never shot up or snorted but i AM sure that you do not want to do this alone!  i was wary about stigma with using for pain but realized that, through my doctor i can control my pain and live a productive life on my prescribbed meds.  So, you could have an allergy to the med.  have u ever taken other opiates? did u take anything with the morph? and, was it "pure" morph? Take it daily and don't panic (i'm an anxiety mess!).  you can do it mate :P
