Josh,
If its the right anti depressant, then it may help you with your other w/d's and/or cravings, but only after you take it for 3 or 4 weeks. These meds take time to get into your system, so dont feel discouraged if you dont "feel" anything for a while. My experience is that you dont really ever "feel" a high but after a while you realize "hey I feel much better". The problem is there are so many of these meds and they work differently on different people. The biggest problem I know of is sexual dysfunction with some of them (err dont know how old you are so disregard if not applicable...)
Im glad you are checking out meds BEFORE you take them, thats a great step in the right direction! I see how many people are addicted to Ultram, and my own surgeon's assistant offered them to me as a "non narcotic" substitute for percocet. So HAPPY I came here first or Id be hooked on them by now I guess...ugh.
Anyway good luck on your journey. Keep posting and reading.
Peace~
alright thanks for all ur guys posts ive acualy been on it for a weak and i dunno i think it makes me feel beter ive tried quitin pills before and i felt alot more worse than i do now
celexa is an antidepressant and is used for anxiety too...it is not addictive, but if you decide to get on it, it can take up to a month to get results, and if your taking it for depression or anxiety or both you should see a difference, if not then its not the right one for you, its kind of trial and error at times to find the right one that works, some get lucky and find what works the first time. taking antidepressants can work, but its not a miracle pill, but you should get some relief from it, but just taking it for a month or two wont cut it, usually antidepressants are considered a longer term med. when you decide to stop taking it, you do have to do it gradually or you will feel kind of "weird" for a bit...but not withdrawals. i have been on a lot of different antidepressants and never had difficulty stopping them at all. you should be fine hun...
josh, if you do a google search on celexa you will find alot of info on it and maybe get some answers to your ?s, i personnaly have no knowledge of it, but your are very wise to do your homewrok on it in advance...that way you know what you are dealing with.
cathy
yeah i no i talked to the doc and he said they wernt and all that but he was the one that also said ultram wernt also so yeah i dunno i think i just need some reasurement or w.e. lol
Celexa is not an addicting narcotic drug, its an antidepressant.some of us have to take them because our brain chemistry is not right in the first place. So, no, i don't believe you will be trading one addiction for another. You are obviously under a dr's care so you should discuss all these concerns with him/her. If you don't feel like you can, then you should defineately seek another dr.
josh, i cant answer your ?, andmany members are not here cuz of church and such. but im showin a lil love, so you can get bumped back up to the top. if ya still dont get an answer repost later..... keep ya chin up bro
