Quitting opiotes cold turkey

I've been on Percocet 10mg 5-6 times a day for over two years for chronic back pain. I don't abuse them , don't get high off of them etc but  I'm sick of being on them I know they have drastically changed my personality among other things. I know my body is physically addicted to them for being on them so long :( So I threw them out only leaving myself enough for today . I have to work tomorrow then have 2 days off. I just wanted some Feed back from others who have gone Ct and what I can expect ? What are the worst days , will I be feeling better by day 5 ? I HAVE to go back to work by then ! Any advice , success stories would be extremely helpful thank you so much !

Hi, go through lots of posts, many many posts are about detox. Look up the Thomas recipe to get what you'll need. Basically, it's awful, but necessary. Your energy and sleep will be the last things to come back. You will be in peak withdrawl on day 5 so I wouldn't expect much but many folks go to work during detox. It's hard. Just know, you will be feeling like you have the flu including sneezing, yawning, possibly shaking, bathroom issues, major fatigue and insomnia. Just expect it. It will eventually pass, just a necessary evil. Good luck and keep posting for support.

Hello KittyKat Welcome to the forum.. We have a lot of Success stories:) Coming off 50 to 60 mg a day is doable. I will not lie to you it will be a lil rough for a few days although as addicts we have come off far more.. Yes the Physical will last fro 5 to 7 days You have been on them a few years although I suspect the last couple will not be as rough as day 3 and 4.. Restless leg and Arm can happen for this Hot showers our baths with Epson Salts It will help relive this for a lil bit This is why you do many. They also sell a product called Hylands Restful Leg our a knock off. This helped me. You can use a heating pad for your back as you will have rebound pain for a lil while. Our bodies respond to the lack of opiate by causes more pain to get you to take some. You are Fortunate you do not crave the High. This will make it easier at least in the mental game. Hydrate Hydrate I van not express this enough Get a sorts drink to balance electrolytes Drink water and get a Protein drink like Costco sells it is packed with the Vitamins you will need. Eat clean. This will feel Impassible but Move walk clean Get Outside as the movement will help with Everything. You may have Anxiety, walking helps with this as it helps with the RLS. You may feel Emotional Cry Cry Cry a River if you feel it. Your Emotions have been dimmed by the Opiates They will come pouring forth.. Imodium IF needed I prefer to get the toxins out. It sounds like a lot but it does pass.. You can do this.. It is so so worth it Food taste better You will notice sunsets the birds many things you think you notice will come back in Vivid color :)) We are here for support anytime you need us Open 24/7.. If I think of anything else  will let you know. I'm Proud of you for doing this as living chained to that damned bottle gets old. % to 7 for physical couple weeks for the left overs then about 6 weeks the emotional and tying up loose ends of the wd. Do not judge your pain to fast as that will settle when the rebound is done. I wish you the very best and You can do this. Oh 1 more thing Sleeping will Probably not happen for a lil, Just be patient. Music funny videos A Positive attitude will take you far.. Congrats !! lesa
