Withdrawals from Norco 10's.

I am 25 years old and on Day 8 of being free of those life changing things... I started taking them about a year and a half ago. Started with a minor laparoscopic surgery and was sent home on pain meds and then soon after I had dental work little by little and wouldn't you know each time I went in I was sent home with a script of pain pills. You would be amazed at how easy they give this script out over and over again. But little old me thought well if the doctor is prescribing it then they know what they are doing I won't get addicted. WRONG! I was taking them like Candy. Well soon the dental work stopped and I had horrible knee pain very soon after. I thought something is wrong I saw two doctors who said nothing was wrong and I not once thought to tell them about my pain pills because at the time I thought nothing of it. So eventually sought out to buying them on the streets for the knee pain. Had I told a doctor then I most likely would not be where I ended up because a year and half later I am finding out the knee pain was withdrawals. Any way I started at 1 then 2 then eventually taking 4-5 3 ish maybe 4 times a day. Yikes this was cutting into my money so much. I finally hit my breaking point called my mother crying and was brought to a rehab. for 5 long long days I detoxed in a facility and learned a whole lot of knowledge on this addiction I never knew and am glad I know now. I am so thankful to have an amazing support system. And even though I lost my home because I could not afford it anymore because I used so much money on piils I know everything will be ok. So if anyone is in the middle of detoxing hold strong it will get easier. I am on day 8 and can honestly say even though I thought I needed the pills to make it through basically anything I am learning that I am more myself and am making it day by day right now.  So anyone who is going through this if I can kick a near 18 month habit you can too.

Hello & Welcome to our Community.

Congrats on you time so far!!

We have all kind of ppl out here with their own stories and many ppl with different careers. This Disease does not care what or who you are.
We used for many, many reason and could find every excuse to continue.

Are you getting any Aftercare? This is so important, as it will take one Addict to help another. I go to many Meetings and Church. I also been studying Addiction in a Scientific way for over 3 yrs now. We have to always keep our Guard Up at all times. That good ol pleasure part of the brain can and will play that tape back again and again to use for any excuse when it has been triggered. The detox is the easy part..yes uncomfortable, but working on staying clean is what takes the Cake. Stick around for Support and also to Support others too. Make sure you try to set yourself up with some Aftercare. I do wish you the best and I am proud you decided to get your life back at a very Young Age and at such a short time of using. YOU are one of the lucky ones that did not waste over 10-20-40yrs or more of your life doing this and Whacking out the Brain Chems even worse. Good for YOU! Keep it up! Be Safe and be Good!
Bless
