Confused

I cannot believe how difficult this whole suboxone thing is becoming. I went through a very extensive evaluation yesterday..(4 1/2 hrs) just to be told that the suboxone treatment is VERY hard to get on and there is a 6mo waiting list. I asked the lady what I was supposed to do in the mean time and she said just to wait.. Im supposed to wait and keep taking pills for six months!!!... I called an outpatient treatment center in Florida and the guy on the phone said if I wanted to fly down there he could have me clean in as little as 3 weeks.. Whats wrong with this picture?? Has anyone else gone through this trying to get on suboxone?? Is it just were I live or what? If so, I am willing to travel out of state to get this problem fixed. I found out that there is only 4 licensed doctors in this WHOLE state... HELP!!!!

Thanks so much for the numbers, I looked online last night and got about half of the numbers in Montana.. But you did find some that I could call that you found are closer to me.. North Dakota is an eight hour drive from where I am.. I have been looking in Washington and the panhandle of Idaho. Not a whole lot going on in the panhandle but hey.. I just got off phone with the counselor at that addiction center and he basically said that I wasnt going to get any luck going any where in this state..  All the doctors are maxed, hard to believe.. Im hearing all these great success stories and its just so hard.. Very depressing.

Hi.  I decided to go on Subs. My cousin goes to an addiction phychiatrist and had me call him.  He gave me an appt. within 4 days. When I went, all he did was ask some questions about my addiction and then prescribed the Subs ( I was in there with him for no more than 15 minutes.).  I am now on my second week.  I live in Pennsylvania.  Not sure why it is so difficult where you are, I guess it varies from state to state. Wow I am sorry to hear that.  Help is out there for you and I am sure you will get some help on here. . Getting on them is one of the best decisions I have made in my life (certainly made alot of bad ones.)  Good luck to you!!!

That is sad, I am sorry.  It is so hard when you have made the decision to get the help you have been needing only to be told to 'wait'.  That happens alot unfortunately.
If the sub route does not open up for you, are you willing to try detoxing without it?  Just curious because there are a lot of people waiting.  In the event you detox without it, once it is over...you will not have something else to detox from.
Please remain open to the fact that maybe this is the way it is meant to be.  This forum is priceless.  Very supportive and compassionate people.  Regardless of the way you choose to go, I wish you all the best.
Best of luck, please continue to post.

I checked into it over a year ago and there are lots of doctors in georgia and not really a wait. It just wasn't the route I wanted to go. Check some states close to you. Is your insurance going to cover it? Its very expensive and you will have to be tappered off it at some point. I'm sure you have done your research and know a lot more about it than me. If there is a large city near you there should be plenty of doctors that can help you with it.

I cannot believe what you're going thru. That is so ridiculous. Have you called all the other Sub. doctors to see if its the same with them?
Where are you, Montana? How close to the border to another state are you? This really sucks.
