hun - CAN you taper?
many of us can't. can't have 'em around.
at 25 vik's a day... well, it may be pretty tough to taper.
have you tried ANYTHING else to get clean? start trying something new, if you haven't.
there's alot of tools to help you. but you gotta try 'em... many people have done this. but not usually without some sort of help.
the good news is, help is out there...
good luck,
mj
i know this is it! i have to stop i know i can because i have and i want to, and i have alll of you wonderful people, who have actually walked in my shoes. hitting the sheets g'night& sweet dreams!
If you really have the desire to get clean you should stop getting your rx's filled. You should come clean to your doctor and tell him what's going on...I know that's hard/scary but getting clean isn't easy. (i'm sure you know that since you were for 7months) Have you considered aftercare like counseling or meetings? I ask that since this is your second time around. You can do this! We are here to support you!

Thanks for the advice. I have actually used clonidine last time, and it worked for me i was clean for about 7 months. Im still kindof in denial where i have my back dr filling rx's if i need it, and my reg dr gave me xanax and darvocet because i said i was veryanxious, no sleep, chills...all the effects of withdrawal. i wouldnt of been able to get the darvocet if he new i had been getting the vicodin else where. basically i dont now how i can get him to write the script for clonidine. im a nervous wreck. i broke down today and filled my script i feel horrible and actually sick to my stomach!
also if your eally want tog et off with trying youre way with darvocet, definitely tellt he doctor that you need clonidine. it is by far the best tool in opiate withdrawal medication. it helps with the sweats, chills, blood predssure spikes, the insomnia, and some oft he muscle carmps and fatigue. its it def. in home detox methods.
yeah darvocet is only 10% higher than aspirin for mg to mg ratio, its abouta s potent as aspirin. it is generally used for patients who dont metabolize codeine(a very weak opiate). it can be useful in withdrawling from opiates, usually with milder addictions though. for youres with the vicodin it may be very helprful for you, but it may be way too hard and the xanax isnt helping taking the edge off then you may need to try suboxone treatment, with group meetings. it saved my life...best of luck-christos
i havent tooken anything 5 hours...which is a long time for me...considering i normally take up 2 25 a day of harder stuff. my stomach is in a knot, and my spine is killing me. i have a broken back,,,hence the pills. im restless...i hope i can keep up with this. i know what i have to do, and i want to do it, its just getting there...as you all no...
best of luck...your in my prayers
peace & love
darvocet is extremely mild...tylenol content is high so beware.......darvacet can take the edge off of vicoden wds but will not really touch it in the long run.....tapering with darvacet is really safer than the vicoden if u beware of the tylenol content...and it will not replace it at all...it would take like 10 darvocts to touch a 10 mg hydro
i think darvocet is like the same. just milder.
advice?- keep tappering down on the darvocets. and like the other one said, just use the xanax for really tough times. set up a date when you are going to run out of the darvocet and keep it. get ready----go !!!!
we will all help you here.
Either one could work for a taper. Use Xanax to help you sleep. Sometimes 1/2 of a pill will do it. Be careful not to use it too much. Xanax is hard to get off of.
