Help with oxycodone addiction

I have been taking pain killers for about 5 years now and really starting to get out of hand. I was in a severe accident in late 2003 which required reconstructive surgery on my hip and I have two herniated disks in my back. I have degenerative hip disease which will require a replacement but since I am only 30 I would like to put it off  and probably eventually require back surgery. I started out taking tramadol 6 50mg pills a day which worked for about a year then the pain got to severe. My doctor started me on 5mg hydrocodone about 80 a month then 5mg oxycodone 90 a month. Then about a year later I was given 10mg oxycodone 90 a month then it increased to 120 a month. That lasted about 2 years but I would usually go over and I would have to get some from a friend or as my doctor to fill the script early to eventually buying some off the street. My doctor eventually increased the dosage to 180 10mg oxycodone a month in July of 2009 but now thats not doing it either. I usually have to buy another 50 or 60 a month. Now I am up to about 12 to 14 10mg oxycodones a day and feel its gotten out of hand and need help to stop. I have stopped taking them for a day or two and was very sick had very bad restless legs and couldnt get out of bed. Plus my hip and back were throbbing very bad. I dont know what to do if I stop I will be in severe pain untill I have my surgeries but would like to get down to prescribed dosage. I have begun going to a pain center to get steroid injections in my back that will hopefully help with my pain then will try to taper down. I am just having trouble tapering down I will do it for a few days go down to 10 for 2 or 3 days then I would do something and be in severe pain and take 14 or 15 a day for a few days then start all over again. I am just wondering what I can do. Sometimes it is to painfull to even sit I have to lay in bed some days putting heat on my back and ice on my hip. Any suggestions

I got this stuff withdrawal-ease on Fri and it seems to help with withdrawal symptoms. It doesnt make them go away completely but makes them bearable. I am all ready down to 5 10mg oxycodone a day and really I am not sufferring that bad. For $79 its not a bad deal

I can take 8 or 9 a day and not have bad withdrawals and have gotten back down there for 4 or 5 days at a time a few times over the last few months but then will have severe pain a few days and it will jump back up to 14 or 15 and I am right back where I started. I am hoping these steriods injections help which I go for on the 11th and I begin tapering down again.

My husband had back surgery in 2000 .. hence began the love affair with Lortab.. but now he has quit c/t. I asked him a couple days ago about his pain.. he works over 40 hours a week and has been declared 10% dissables with permenant nerve damage and severe scar tissue in his back.... he told me that his pain is actually better now that he isn't taking the Lortabs anymore... amazing what alieve, tylenol and ibuprofen can actually do when you really give them a chance... I used to hear sooo many people say that and never believed it could be true... but it is.. me and husband are living proof... the decision is gonna have to be yours to do ... if you want off the meds you will have to determine that yourself... but I know first hand that you can live without them... my husband is doing it and is bulking up on all the vitamins that he has drained out of himself from all the years of abuse of pain meds... I also have someone in my family that refused to get addicted after several back surgeries and he found that acupuncture actually works for him... since doing the treatements he now walks without a cane and is considered dissabled in every sense of the word .. but he has used the acupuncture treatments as his alternative.. and they have worked for him..
