Definitely the banana's! They are a good source of potassium. I'm not sure what benefit Astragalus and cats claw is, as far amino acid properties go at least.
all of them together... anxiety, cravings, lack of motivation, energy, depression... ok, step by step :)
welcome here !!!
have some immodium at hand just in case and Hylands restful legs and epsom salts to add to your bath..( just in case too :)
Thanks all! I just need to hear that I will make it through all the pain, discomfort, anguish. I don't take Xanax unless I go to the dentist- severe phobia....so I am only taking about 3 pills throughout the day/night at most. I am taking lots of fluid, a ton of Chlorella (for detox), Multivitamin, Astragalus and Cat's Claw to help my immune system, and eating more bananas than one would think possible. I am not eating much else, so thank goodness for the bananas. I just started Celexa, an anti-depressent I have used in the past successfully for anxiety. I'm pretty sure that kicks in rather fast compared to some. Started that on Day 2.
I can add Calcium too, but my legs aren't so bad right now. Maybe all the potassium filled bananas?
when everyone says not to underestimate the mental part, what does that mean....the desire to use or the feeling of anxiety, depression, etc.
Again, any and all cheerleading is appreciated! Thanks!! At this moment I am 5 hrs 40 minutes until Day 5....getting there, right?????
HI.....If your on day 5 your just about threw with the physical part of this so brighter days are in sight......just dont under estimate the mental side of this thing more people go back to using becuse of the mental side then the physical withdrawal .....as a whole the frorum recamends aftercare there are lots of choices I always bring up N/A and A/A because there free and all over the place they work good also if you prefer one on one you can hook up wityh a substance abuse conslor or addiction therapist any of these will work as addicts we need to change the very way we think and reason to overcom our addiction with a little work it is very doable left to itslf and you will probably use without it I know I would it has saved my but countless times so become pro active in your recovery you get out what you put into it good luck and God bless......Gnarly
Besides xanax,(how long have you been taking that?) what else are you taking?
Unfortunately, when you take opiates for chronic pain, you will develop a physical dependance, it doesn't matter how small a dose you take. But if you need them, that's a price you pay. it's not a bad thing in itself, other than knowing it's there, and you will be facing withdrawals if and when you stop taking them. But as long as you aren't abusing your pills, and taking them properly for pain, not a high, you can deal with that when the time comes. When you develop a tollerence to them, you switch to a different opiate that acts on different receptors.
To deal with the withdrawal symptoms, you need to get your endorphin levels and other amino acid levels back in order while your system repairs itself. If you don't do this, you will feel like crap until it does.
First, you need to help your body "heal" itself, start making the neurons which make the neurotransmitters that keep your brain chemistry in balance and supplied with amino acids.
You should be taking an good multivitamin that has the full b complex vitamins especially B6, and about 1000mg vitamin C, as well as magnesium and calcium along with a protein shake supplement at bedtime to help with rls and sleep.
The vitamins help with amino acid absorption, and the protein also helps with neuron regeneration.
There is a recipe link at the bottom of the page called the Thomas recipe, as well as a link to the "amino acid protocol'. taking a few of those supplements it recommends will help ease or eliminate a lot of the symptoms you have. Then you can throw away the xanax as well. Why take chemistry when you don't have to?
Hi needafriend,
This is a great place for support. You can do this !!! I am cranky today myself. Just try to remember day by day and please find a Doctor that has experience in ths area. We all can do this, if you have any hobbies try to do them or go for a walk or whatever it takes to busy your brain. You are doing good just by coming here.
