i have been on subutex for about 4 months now went to pain dr and told him about my surgerys and the pain i was going through and how i knew this was starting to be a problem and i wanted to take subutex and get off the meds and he questioned me as to if i knew i had a problem with addiction and of course i said yes thats why im here well he then put me on subutex 3 times a day 8 mlgrams and i iwas induced in the office but left feeling great not knowing very much about the med but trusting the dr. well i then had a bad fall and broke the whole eye socic under my right eye including busting out my sinus well he then decided to give me loritab 10 5 times a day with the subutex have yall ever heard of this because from what i understood they loritab wouldnt work with the subutex anyway and it would be a waste but i was in pain so i tried it and to no avail i didnt get much relief then he said try to loritabs with the subutex but then i diecided on my own to stop sub long enough to have some relief and then to start back when  healed so what do yall think about this please let me know thanks

This doctor basically hasn't a clue about Sub, and at that high a dose of Sub, I don't think any opiate would work. Plus takeing opiates with Sub can cause you to get extremely ill.
Yea, it will take about 3 days off the Sub to start to feel any effects of the pain killer.

thats a high dose of sub. and it will block the tabs...weird. u should def get a 2nd opinion.

At that high dose of sub  24 mg?  u would have a heck of a time feeling any pain relief from the lortabs...I do not see the point in taking both as it is a waste to take the tabs...it will take 3 days or so before u feel the effect of the lortabs after u quit the sub as it will linger

btw - my first reaction tho is, get a 2nd opinion.

i dont know of any Sub/addiction doc who would prescribe narcotics.

that said, there could be some "cutting edge" stuff i simply don't know about...

hun, i don't know..

i know the Sub blocks the "high" from narcotics, but i don't know about pain relief.

i DO know the Sub has personally given me great pain relief for back issues.

but please post again in a.m. when more peeps are on, who know more about this than i do....
