Day 38

OK, so I am a big baby ~ I have had the REAL flu for 4 days now, and I truly can't remember ever feeling so lousy. I know, I know... I'm SURE it was worse during detox, but I just can't remember.
My sponsor told me NO MEETINGS for 2 days, and it was suggested I rest~ UG! I hate lying in bed all day~ it reminds me so very much of how the end of my using days were. But I did it. Today I am not as bad as I was yesterday, but still I am achy and have chills.

I have stayed in constant contact with recovering people, and I have remained tight with God~ I WILL be going to a meeting tonight, and I will be getting out of bed and being productive today~ a bit.

I (thank God) have no desire to get high today, and only a desire to stay clean come hell or high water. For that I am truly grateful.

Hang in there everyone... if I can do it, anyone can!!

Free of active addiction today, but bound by a snotty head! Would take the trade off any day!
Free of the chip on my shoulder too!!!!! (:

So sorry you are feeling lousy with the flu. It seems like every time someone detoxes they end up catching the flu. While on the pills it seemed like we never got sick. It's almost like we forgot how to deal with the flu. Just drink plenty of fluids and rest, rest, rest!! You will start feeling better very soon so just hang in there.
You still have such a positive outlook on addiction. You have done an amazing job!! Just keep moving forward and never look back!!!
I'm so proud of ya!!
Best of luck and hope you get to feeling better!
