diazipan

hi. i was put on diazipan 15 moths ago after suffering panic attacks . dosage was 15mg (3x5mg a day) they  did work and made sleep easy , but after some months i was feeling tense a lot and low moods.
my doctor said this was a low dosage and not to worry as i could come off anytime.
Now my gp has left the surgery my gps are telling me i MUST get off this drug asp as its dangerous.
taking it long term.
im reducing to 12mg a day now and have been advised it will take 12 months to taper off altogether.
i did try going from 15mg to 7mg a day straight away but i was not feeling good in myself.
any advise please x

Whoever advised you on tapering off of Diazepam is correct! You should taper of Benzos slowly, because you can risk seizures if you do it to fast or c/t.  I would talk to your Dr. about the appropriate way to come off this drug, and if hes not willing to help, I would talk to another one.

Best of luck!
