Day 4...

Well, I made it to day 4 without any percocets.. I'm actually starting to become proud of myself.. The body aches are still there and I'm starting to feel very irritated..The hot baths do work, thanks to all of you for the advice..
I posted yesterday asking the question if hydrocodone was as addictive as oxycodone..and I DEEPLY thank those who answered in the post.. I was "considering" taking a hydro just to ease the pain a little so I'd be able to get some cleaning done and maybe take the kids to the park...I was told by a friend (who happens to be worse than me with the percocets) that they were not in any way addictive, hense the reason they cost less "on the street"..
From reading on here.. it seems to be that day 5 is basically the end of the "hard part".. so I'm hanging in there hoping it's right..

It depends.  A lot of people have depression afterwards, also cravings, and of course the constant inner battle in your head to use again.

I keep hearing about the "mental part" of withdrawl... Can anyone tell me what this may consist of?

And.. I went cold turkey.. I thought of just cutting down little by little but I figured I just wanted to get it over with as fast as possible..
I know what you are going through..it is not easy.

You asked how I'm doing it..? I HAVE NO IDEA..lol.. It really helps being able to come on here and get the support you do from other people. Especially when others talk about their withdrawls day by day.. It's almost like I know what to expect for the next day.. Even if you don't post.. just reading gives you the answers you need..

Good job! I usually got much better on day 3-4, it,s a hell of a ride, not fun, but regarding the withdrawals I,d say, your out of the woods, now you have to come to terms with the mental part, aftercare plays a huge part in recovery.  Penelope

thats great you have made it to day 4. And isn't it funny how you all of a sudden start getting that "proud of yourself" feeling. I think thats what got me this far. Hang in there hun. I'm also glad you asked because hydros was my DOC- I took percs too but the hydros is what I'm coming off and neither one is no picnic.

Have you tried posting your question to the entire forum?  We have all done it differently but you will get a lot more input if you post your own question.

Congratulation on making it this far, you will see a turn around soon but as Cathy said everyone is different.  I am glad you asked the forum about the hydrocodone, it always seems that an addict doesn't want another addict to clean up if they are still using.  In a sense I was kind of lucky to have a lot of nervous energy during withdrawals because I got a lot done in the middle of those nights.  I really hated it then, I could absolutely not relax a all though.  Wow I don't want to do that again!!
