I doubt you'll feel much in the way of crappy -- just anxious to get at your supply. It's really, really hard to take a dose knowing you won't feel a buzz, but that's how the smart ones do it ...

I try not to take it 'cause I'm bored -- that's not too hard, but getting going in the morning gets the ball rolling ... looks like it'll be a fair-sized "jump."

Good luck and let us know ...

How much of what were you taking when you "jumped"?

I agree that the taperers are a unique subset of opi users -- I mean, self-control isn't a strong point.

You're doing great, by the way -- inspriational, even.

so you are taking 70 mg of opiates a day.  you can stop.  tappering is a good idea.  I was up to 240 mg or higher of oxy a day and am on day 3 today without.  I had 11 days but relapsed.    at one time I was able to tapper to 80mg then 40mg then 20 then 10 then 5 and none.  but relapsed.  withdrawls are killer but you can do it.  the withdrawls this time are not as bad as coming off 240 cold.  tapper and you can do it.  If you are cool with going to a doctor then you should.  take care and god bless.  oh and yes if you live  in a state with medical marijuana then you should check that out as it has helped me greatly.

Hey a lot of people on this message board simply say go to your doctor and fix your problems... well sadly MANY people (like me) do not have the option to go to a doctor because we don't have insurance.  Also many people bash the theory of tapering.. if you want to quit you'll quit.. thats it... i'm on my 9th day off vicodin..  i couldn't go to the doctor and i went off them by myself on a 4 week taper (you can see my tracker) .... I mean the withdrawal is bad but it's not as crazy as people make it out to be.   Listen to yourself before anybody else... if you think you can do it through a taper .. then go on through and do it.  I took a variety of vitamins that helped me get off (L-Tyrosine, L-Theanine, Multi-Vitamin/Multi-Mineral, Vitamin B6, and Omega 3) if you want to know the dosages i took just PM me and ill be sure to help.

tapering did not work for me. Too much of a tease, for me CT worked. I'm on day 6 now and feeling not too bad, the first few days are the worst for sure. And last night I had some trouble emotionally but the really bad physical withdrawal is gone now. It's amazing how quick the body can start to recover in only days after months or even years of abuse. I am going to look into NA in my area as I know that aftercare will be important for me to stay clean.

methadone will show if they r testing for narcotics...not sure how long it sticks around..spiking/like u r taking 30 mgs plus is not the way to taper..there is a great article in the health pages on tapering...getting down to small doses spread out is the way to taper///tapering is tough for an addict and control and discipline are needed/also someone elses control cos if u r an addict then u have no control over ur doc....small doses spread out stops the bombardment on ur brain and lets it slowly get used to u taking its endorphins away..ur brain taint gonna be happy when u take large doses away..even small ones if u been doing it long enuf....make a plan that can work for u..and keep posting

That methadone might be a problem! Do they look for everything? If so you told them that you took Vik's when percocet is what you have in your system! It does come up different! Believe me it happened to me!  You need to be HONEST as much as possible! I dont know what to tell you about the methadone but you might want to tell them that you got ur names wrong that it is percocet not vicodon! Straighten it out as soon as possible! Once again be HONEST its the best method!

They are both right 100%! You are not going to get off these w/ high dose's! You are going to fell (crappy) its weird saying that word, as soon as that goes away around that time you posted! Try to sleep so that you don't have to take anymore tonight! You should really go see a doctor and be honest w/ everything! I did that and so much has (somewhat only insurance issues) gone fantastic! Please try not to take anymore and get some doctor's opionion! Stay strong and try not to use anymore tonight!DrewBoy7

I taper before actually the 3 times I quit and I pray this is my last time all involved some tapering.IBKeen is spot on you do not spike your tapering. What I do is just take enough to get by not to feel even a little bit of a high just a bla normal after a week of keeping that set point I am ready to go cold turkey and the wds are much less of course.I also agree go see a doc get your heart and liver checked fro a doctor that works with addictions. Its not easy but you simply cannot see the life you can have now because of the drugs once off everything will come back to focus in time
Peace

You will be in withdrawal by then. The problem with your taper is that you are "spiking your dose". Meaning you are taking a large amount several times a day. Your body and your brain will begin to crave it sooner.

Tapering is hard and many cannot complete it. Everyone is different. Some people like to take the bandage off quick, some slow.

I would honestly prefer that you do this under a doctor's care. It is dangerous to do this alone and under the advise of a non-professional, such as myself. Please consider seeing your doctor and getting honest.
