If they are prescibed by a physician i see no problem. Are they prescribed for your hernia or are they sourced illicitly or are they spares you had for an old ailment?
They are old ones... I'm in so much pain... and I can barely walk around, the swelling gets worse day by day.
You need to go and see your OB and discuss this with him/her. Better to be safe than sorry....sara
Yeah, i understand. I might be tempted to take 1. The problem is, you are only just treating the pain but not the actual hernia itself.
You need to see a doctor anyway and get an antibiotic or whatever is used to treat a hernia. Is it septic? Seriously, go get it checked out asap.
My doctor said something about if it pops out to push it back in... Idk it hurts to bad.
I think you need a second opinion - preferably with a high-risk OB.
I'm thinking of going to the hospital... and see what they tell me
My wife was in the hospital for that, they will push it back in... u have to wait until after the baby is born to operate in most cases. This is extremely painful, do not wait!
Go in I meant, they will fix you up very shortly... my wife had to get high doses of fentynal to deal with the pain... she was fine in 10 mins after they pushed it back in... don't delay!
She just had to deal with the pain.... how far along was she
What happened when she left the hospital?
With this kind of severe pain, you really should get checked at the ER. You don't need a strangulated hernia on top of being this close to delivery. If you're still in doubt, call your regular OB's office now and tell the call service it's an emergency. The on-call doctor is better able to advise you better than we are. Go make that call!
Sorry, was away for a bit... This happened with two of her pregnacies- two different hernias... The last one seemed like the worst, it kept popping out and would get too painful to push back in on her own... I would race her in, she would about pass out from the pain, they would give a quick IV and fentynal, push it back in, we would be outta there in an hour, maybe hour and a half when they were busy... She got it operated on after the baby was born. It cuts off circulation or pinches the intestine, very very painful. The fentynal made her cry and she would make me hug her til the effects wore off... But don't wait, it gets excruciating unless you can push it back in on your own. Trust me on this one, been there done that... God bless!!
What you're describing is a strangulated hernia, and it's definitely an emergency. The danger is leaving that loop of intestine pinched in the abdominal wall. If left too long, it loses circulation and the tissue dies. That is a life-threatening emergency that requires immediate surgery. I really hope crazyk87 is in the ER now!
I hope you went in to the ER. Let us know how you are. sara
It starts off just poking through, then most of the time it will pop back in on it's own. But once there is pain associated with it, it has begun to swell and the blood circulation gets cut off. I do hope she went it, altho I can't imagine she could have dealt with the pain very long...
I didn't go to the hospital. I pushed it back in... the swelling is the only thing there.. it hurts but the pain is manageable.i go see my ob on Tuesday
