opiate addiction... help with hell

I have been taking lortabs/hydrocodone recreationally since last October (2011) and have decided in the last few days that I am going to quit. I have been weaning myself off for a few days but today is my first day without anything. I have only been taking two to three tens a day but I know I am an addict. My mom just got clean from morphine and I started stealing her tabs when I started. I am only 18 and have no one really to talk to and I'd prefer not to go into a rehabilitation center due to work. So my question is how can I make this at home detox easier for myself and how long are the aches and stomach pain going to last? Please help. Idk what to do...

Wow, I'm impressed.  With your body being young, and the low amounts you were on, I'm betting that you are feeling better in less than a week.  Congratulations on taking control of your life.  If there is any way you could seek counseling from someone you trust, it would help you figure out why you want to take this drug.  I think that is the only way one can give it up forever.  I'm 54 yrs old and am still struggling.  Many of us here are older than you, but obviously not wiser.  Be strong.  You can do the withdrawals.  I'm sure of it!

Hello and Welcome :o)  I am so glad you decided that it was time to give up the demon pills.  Getting off of them is very doable and we are all here to walk you through the process.  It is very hard to do this alone, so I am very glad you came here for support. Get yourself some Immodium for the belly issues.  For muscle pain, start taking Magnesium and Potassium vitamins each day.  Both will help neuromuscular communication and alleviate those aches and pains you are experiencing.  If you start feeling any other symptoms, just post and there will be plenty of people providing you with what worked for them.  Keep your head up and know you are making the best decision for your future.  Being addicted to anything is no way to live.  Sending hugs-Kelly
