I don't know anything about xanax, but there are alot of people here that do.Hang in there someone will come along who can help.Peace.
no. klonopin is just as addictive. you're replacing one for the other.
i just got out of treatment, and xanax was my big DOC. been on it 15 years, and when i tried to stop, got really sick. the best way to come off without seizures or sickness is, unfortunately, with valum (sp?). it's also a benzo, but it's used for many types of withdrawals. talk to your doctor about it, i'm sure he'd be happy to help. in detox they gave me 5mg valum a few times a day, along with anti-seizure meds. ask your doc for those too.
good luck, don't loose yourself sweetie!
Letting ur doctor help with a benzo taper is the best way to go...klonopin is just as strong as xanax so i dont see where that would be much of a switch...like msanxiety said...a weaker benzo like valium or chlorazepate is often used...ativan is a no go as it is also alsmost as strong...talk to ur doc but a slow taper is safest
