48 hrs

I am on my 48th hour of withdrawls, so far it hasnt been too, too bad. I have taken pain meds on and off for 7 years with no problems. But for the last four months I have been taking them everyday, this is the 3rd time I have tried and hopefully it will work. I am drinking about 2 gals of water a day and taking an all in one vitiman along with liverr ight liver restorer(dont know if that does anything).I have also been riding my bike alot and working as much as I can. The only major problem is tha cravings is there anything I can do for them would a few beers help?

Drinking a beer to calm down the WDs you're having will only lead to another addiction. I know this isn't the case all of the time, but to be on the safe side, I would stray away from this as much as humanly possible right now. Today I am 45 days sober from percocet, and it IS possible to go through the WD without easing your pain by turning to something else, like alchohol. I know it's easier said than done, but it was done by me. Try your hardest to stay strong, and know that everyone here on the forums is here for you no matter what.

I was just busting your balls about the beer thing - that's your business. One thing though - here's how it happens for me. You get a little clean time going - you're feeling good - got everything under control, and your friends start talking to you about how proud they are of you and if you just want to socially use one sometime they won't let it get out of control. They just kind of slip it in there like that. Be on your guard for that sort of **** if you want to stay clean. There are a thousand variations on it, and they all sound better with beer. Aftercare means NA or some other support group.

I would first like to thank everyone that has responded. I do not have an after care dont really know what do do with that? I have told all the people I get my pills from not to taalk to me anymore took their names off my phone, the one even wished me luck and sais he wish he knew he would of never sold them to me. I started taking these after I slipped a disc in my back. i love having a busy life style and I think it is a little harder not being able to do all that stuff right now.

Beer's just going to get you drunk and then you'll probably be like, "Damn, I could use a pill right about now." Suboxone kills the cravings (on the right dose), but then you have to wean off of that.

What pain meds where u taking?? I use suboxone to help me with cravings..it's controversal and you would need to see your doc about it!!  Suboxone is cool cuz it eases the WD's and Stops cravings because it literally blocks any opiates u try to use so you wont get high and then u don't feel like taking pain meds cuz they wouldnt do anything for ya anyhow! However, suboxone can be addictive in itself and I would only suggest this to people who are serious about stopping all drugs....

Good luck, god bless...I'm on Day Nine staying strong!!
