As the others said, depends on how much you were taking at the time you stopped. The first 24 hours are basically filled with worrying about what to expect. Start to become nervous, thinking of every possible way you can get more pills so you don't have to do it right now.....I'll do it next week.....Day 2 you'll begin feeling shakey, restless, jittery, trouble sleeping, loss of appetite, loose bowels, headache, body aches and rapid heart beat. Day 3, you'll barely be able to get out of the bed, make it just in time to the toilet to pee out your butt, then back to bed until next time. The craving isn't there as much, you just want to not feel as shittty as you do. Day 4, still lethargic, but the runs have begun to subside, and you can get a good 3 hours of sleep at a time. You can actually walk to the kitchen and back to bed now......... and from there it keeps getting better and easier. The the hard part......STAYING SOBER!
Last time I CT, it didn't hit me till day 3. So, really depends on your intake, and length of use.
Just a rough estimate as some move faster and some slower through the process. Sure beats being a slave and a robot in life though.
I was on so much ms contin that the dr said I should could have died. I was so sick for about 7 days. my husband would take mine and he stopped and was sick for 2 1/2 to maybe 3 days. It has been almost 48 hours and I am having a little discomfort but feel really ok. I thought it would be like it was with the morphine but it most certinaly is not. I have to have like 5 sujeries and will have to take something then but here on out I am done. My husband is a recovered drug addict and he says he thinks I am not, I however do not think just because i dont abuse the meds means much. I will let you all know how I feel when done with this. I am truly trusting the Grace of God to get me through and not fall apart out of fear. ok thanks for all your input. Tina oh sorry I spell so crappy LOL
everyone is different...how many u take a day and how long...other factors as well...mine was 3-4 days/the physical part anyway..keep posting
it depends on how much of the meds you were taking and how often you were taking them.7 to 10 days normally with vics.the insomnia is what really got to be annoying, that will last close to a month .trazadone really helps me with sleep, without it i'm totally miserable
Acute wds from vicoden generally last 3-4 days but you'll feel crappy for up to a week. Like jenny said - flu-like symtoms that are more extreme during the first 72 hours or so then you'll suffer more from tiredness, insomnia, and aches.
I HAVE NEVER CAME OFF OF VICODIN BUT I WISH YOU THE BEST AND IF YOU NEED TO TALK TO SOME ONE SEND ME A NOTE. WISH YOU THE BEST .
I too am hooked on Vicodin....I take 2 a day....and my doc is almost ready to cut me off I think...I usually go through 20 pills in 2 weeks....which isn't as bad as some people on here but it isn't good either....I also have been taking Darvocet , 2 at a time .....I just can't seem to make myself quit this viscious cycle....I've heard that withdrawels feel like you have a bad flu....lots of the same symptoms.....aches and pains, nausea, vomiting, headaches, backaches...you name it...I've also heard that they can last up to a couple of weeks depending on how many Vic's your used to taking. It looks like we're in the same boat and I wanna get off so badly but I'm afraid too....I have terrible tension and migraine headaches and now my back is acting up along with my neck...I try to get massages but these only help a little bit....I'm sorry to hear that your fighting this just as much as I am.....just keep reading these posts and maybe someone else will post more on the topic.....Good Luck to you Friend!
