Experience ,Strength and Hope

I have used most street drugs (meth coke etc) for 32 years. (Experience)
When I learned how to change the way I think (134 days ago) was the last day I used (Strength)
If an old boy like me who is damn near 50 y. o. can do it ANYONE CAN!  (hope)
Don't get me wrong it's the hardest thing you will ever do. It is however definitely do-able.
If you believe it you can achieve it. I found a lot af answers and insight andmotivation from a video called "The Secret" (very popular & widely available). I highly recommend it.

I don't want to put a negative spin on such a positive and uplifting post that we need so much to hear..and i also want to say that i was clean once from everything for 10 years.  I had a wonderful life, and wonderful friends, and one day some meth was right there in front of me and i didn't think--i just did it. i was hooked for about a year, luckily god gave me the strength to quit, but now here i am withdrawing from oxys and vicodin. my point is that being an "addict" does not go away.  i believe we have to stay away from all mind altering drugs because our potential for abusing them is way up there. Now i'm in my 1st 48 hours of withdrawl from opiates-and this is NOT my first time for this either-i think i'll go back to bed...

CONGRATS on 134 days that is awesome.  I'm looking for the movie.  And Chrissy 3 years I cant wait till I can say that.

I'm going to try my local library, they say they can get any book or video, at least our does, if not then books-a-million would surely be able to get it. Chrissy, you're doing great being clean for three years, I'm working hard to see that day, too. twb, I've used assorted drugs (street and scripts) since @ 1978 and you are a new added inspiration to me. I've met a lot of great people and made a few awesome friends and it's been really helpful in my continued progress toward TOTAL sobriety. I'm an adult, darn it, and I need to ACT like one!  =)

HI I was wondering where I can find or watch the show "the secret" that you are talking about? I think it would do me some good to see it. I am clean off opiates with methadone for 3yrs so I could use some help with tips. thanks!

congrats on your 134 days, i am just behind you with 123 days clean from coke. i watched the secret also and thought it was amazing, it just makes so much sense. i also just ordered that book too. congrats again on your clean time. good luck.
