I wonder if taking the pain pills for so many years could mess up my brain functioning correctly... I cannot figure out how many years I have taken the pills.. I thought it was 13 years.. but, the numbers don't add up... 1991 to 2013... Honestly guys, I think the pain pills messed up my brain..
Yes! You are right! It has been much more than 13 years!! The accident was in 1991... That's when they first gave me Hydrocodone.. So, I had been taking the pills... ? Man, I'm so bad at math!! Anyway, that is many more years than 13!! Why am I so bad at math.. Oh well.. 1991...to 2013.. How many years is that? Oh my gosh?? Did I take those pills 23 years... or is my math off again.. That can't be possible..
I found this really my most inspiring answer!! This made me smile and have hope!
You said... "At around two months pill free tge pain levels really reduced. I almost cound not believe it. "
Your comment, This comment, This still gives me hope EVERY SINGLE DAY, and I could never repay you for this comment!! I love looking at this comment every day... THANK YOU SO MUCH OxyTired!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am taking a soma in the night and one klonopin 1mg. I was taking these prior to quitting norco, so one thing at a time. I intend to quit everything. I quit diet pepsi after drinking it for decades. I quit chocolate. I noticed I have cut way down on cigarettes since quitting the norcos, unintentionally. I take either aspirin or tylenol once or twice a day, depending on how much I do. Yesterday, I overdid it.. We should be careful of how much we do during the first weeks, even maybe to a month or more, doing too much can cause worse pain than usual. I am able to do much more now, without the pain being so intense. When your pain is so bad you feel like your will faint from it.. surely time to give up the norco/ pain medication!!! They cause worse pain than you would be in if you took nothing at all...
Because it was two months for one person does not at all mean it will be two months for you. Why suffer? Find alternative pain treatments. Many of us chronic pain sufferers have.
2 months.. Well, I've almost gone 1 month.. so, one more month... 4 weeks.. I am counting the weeks... though each day is a challenge and I find myself praying a lot. 2 months.. 60 days... thats a lot of days, but the days will eventually pass by anyway.. : O ) Thank You
"If you are no longer taking opiate painkillers after taking them addictively, it is normal to feel depressed, anxious and more sensitive to pain. These are not only common symptoms of opiate withdrawal, but also a natural byproduct of the reduced levels of neurotransmitters, including endorphins, in your brain, caused by taking opiates repeatedly. Fortunately, natural substances and healthy activities can boost your level of endorphins and elevate your mood."
This comes from a short article called "Natural Ways to Replenish the Pain Receptors Lost From Opiate Addiction". I didn't realize our bodies produce at least 20 different endorphins. Here's the article if you wanna read it:

You said in one of your earlier posts that you had been taking opiates since 1991....so please give yourself more than 3-4 weeks to realize some healing and stabilization. I know how HARD it is to hurt....I am in chronic pain myself.....but it WILL get better Sue!
