OMG I have not SLEEPT it a wink in days 10 Days. I'm into evening #10 clean cold turkey.Restles leg worse then ever abd forget about sleep. This is making my days very go by slow as I am exhausted. I get it I gotta go through a little hell as i basicly took an advance on my good reality and now I'm paying up. I have been useing lots og apple juice, Bananas, CAlcium and Magnesium along with Ibuprophen about 800 mg through the day, and elevated excercise/sex and HOT HOT Showers as I don't have a bath tub.... I suffer from mile sleep apnia and fear a sleeping agent could seal my fate. I did a lousy job of documenting my last recovery proses and who remembers everything bad as they fade we just seem to forget, why not? So any last minute advise on the Nighty night... I gotta get some sleep or Im gonna come apart at the seams mentaly. thx Alaska_bumer
No problem! Thats what we are here for!
How are you doing today? Are things starting to let up for ya?
Sometimes you dont notice the little improvements, but always look back to day 3 or day 4, and you will be amazed at how much better you are feeling. Its a long hard fight, but you've got it in ya!
Henry.
Now thats what Im talking about some real truth and great advise. Thanks Henry,Deb, and all of the other code name people who wrote in on my questions.....I wish everyone who Is or will be in our shoes could know of this sight.... thx
Hey congrats on 6 days. I've used hylands in the past w/ok results. This time i've been drinking tonic water mixed w/cranberry juice.(ALOT of it). Also taking magnesium supl. Im coming up on day 10 w/no hydro and i've gotta say the rls has been mild to nonexistant. I'm still not getting much sleep though. I'm having a hard time turning my head off.Good luck and keep it up...
Henry gave you some great advice, don't under estimate it! I have restless arms so I know how you feel and can sympathise! Try try try to not think about it, I know its hard, but it's so much worse when you let yourself think about it. Do you have to go to work? If not, just take something to make you sleep, unisom is great! Valerian root or melatonin would be good options too, even if you do work or have daily responsibilies knock yourself out at night, that's what I have been doing! You should be getting better very soon!
Congrats on day 6!!!!! By now your physical symptoms should be improving. Unfortunatley, restless legs and low energy usually seem to hang on the longest. In addition to what Henry suggested, you may also try those ICY HOT patches on your legs at night. If you get the xlarge back size you can wrap them around your legs. This seemed to help me alot. Hang in their, things will definitely get better. You'll want to get some aftercare for when the mental part starts to kick in. Wishing you peace and strength . . . Deb
Congrats on day 6!!!
At day 6, things should start to calm down soon with the physical symptoms. There are a few things that worked for me to help with the restless kicking legs.
1- Increase you potassium intake, bananas and apple juice should not be underestimated here!
2-Hylands Restful Legs tablets sold at most walmarts and CVS in the vitamin aisle. They dont take it away completely, but they help immensely.
3-HOT HOT HOT soaks in the tub with some epsom salts. Epsom salts are almost all a magnesium salt, and magnesium can help with muscle aches and leg cramping. Mag is readily absorbed through the skin, and along with a hot soak can go a long long way to easing your comfort.
4-A good quality Calcium with Chelated Magnesium supplement at night before bed. This combo can also be combined with zinc in some formulas.
5-Wrap your legs nice and tight with ace bandages. This helps at night before bed, however you should keep a watch on your toes for any type of discomfort or color change as to not have the bandages too tight. If you sleep with the bandages on, be sure that they are snug but not too tight to cut off circulation.
A combo of all these things will make it more manageable for you, but even combined they dont take it away completely. Only time and patience can solve that, but it will come soon for you!
Hang in there, and start thinking about some aftercare!
