Hey Everyone - Need Some Info About Body Changes After Stopping Opiates

Hey There:

Day 11.5 after a 3.5 week taper off percs 8-10 a day plus a 50mg Fentynl Patch.

OK....I feel pretty good...eating, exercising, hydrating (1 gal a day of H20) and sleeping 7-8 hours a night with exedrin PMs.

Here's my question - I feel seriously dehydrated - eyes feel like they're coming in my skull and I can't shake a fatigue during the day...I work through it but is this normal?

Thank Ya Much...

Peace,

Nick

Missed ya.  Yes you are normal.  I was really dehydrated too.  Still am to some degree.  My lips were crackin' and bleeding and I wasn't peeing anymore.  Keep up with any fluids you can and don't worry about what they are.  They all have water in 'em.  If it gets severe, like no tears, no snot or thick snot, no pee, super dry skin, veins become thin lines, have yourself checked out.  Are you still puking, the squirts?  I hope not at this point.  But if you are, get some Immodium a.s.a.p.  Hope you're better soon.

This is from another thread I started earlier in the week -

I recently had the flu - last week I got it from my son, and I finally went to see my Dr yesterday. He knows my situation on the Vicodin, and we were talking about triggers for pneumonia, and he mentioned that often after abusing opiates there is a strong chance of bronchtitis and pneumonia, which I have.

I have off vicodin for 35 days, although I do have them in the house. (Not taking them) My Dr. prescribed a very strong anti-biotic for the chest infection, along with Robitussen/Codeine for cough. Yes, I took some - 1tsp to get through the night. I had no issue with wanting to drink the whole bottle. I think I am partial to the pills.

Anyway, I urge everyone that is going through withdrawal or just cleaned up to get checked out. Often what we think are withdrawal symptoms can lead to serious respritory distress. My Dr. says I have had pnuemonia for at least 2 months, maybe longer. After taking antibiotics for just 2 days I feel great, and the left-over malaise that I had after withdrawl has finally gone away over night. I often read stories about how awful follks feel well after WD, and I think the DR may be on to something.

Hi...yes...I'm taking vitamins, multi, c and a complex b.  I eat about 6x a day with no fried foods...mostly baked chicken; occasionaly gatorade but i found that goes right thru me.

I didn't think about the checkup....all blood, urine, etc?

Thank Ya,

Nick

Add in some juice & or Gatorade. Don't drink R.O. or Distilled water. It can go right thru you stripping body of minerals. ! gal of fluids is more than enough. Example of how much to drink is 1/2 you body weight in ounces. 200# man needs 100 oz.
Energy is the last thing to come back. Exercise helps. Are you also taking vitamins and supplements? They are important too. Eating right, 3 meals and 1 or 2 snacks per day.

I think you should make an appt with the doctor a good check up after de tox is always a really good idea ,have them do some blood work ,including your thyroid ,you will be ok ,remember you have been abusing your body for a long time it will take time to heal .
