How long

I've read many stories on here and mine is similar. Following wisdom teeth extraction I was given vicodin. I liked the way it made me feel and how it made dealing with everday problems seem easier. I've been taking about 10mgs a day (all at night) and 100mgs of tramadol during the day for about 6 months now. I've had enough and tapered down to almost nothing for a week before stopping completely. It's been 5 days now since I've had anything. I really didn't experience much other than going to the bathroom more than normal and waking up sweating a lot at night along with a cough that feels like an elephant sitting on my chest. I have not read much about the cough being a symptom and am wondering if anybody else has experienced that? Also how long until the sweating at night ends? I feel fine other than these nagging things.

Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to respond.
