Why the sneezing?

Would anyone mind explaining to me why you start sneezing when in w/d?
My hubby's been sneezing..multiple times!
I kind of get the runny nose and eyes but sneezing?
just curious
:o)

My record for consecutive sneezes was 13 in a row.  Ouch.

Everytime i go outside in the sun I sneeze 2 times. As soon as i set foot out. Only been like that since i started the taper and detox.

AHHHH CHOOOOO!

I have been CLEAN for 41 days off of an 8-10 Norco habit a day x's 3 years and I still get in 2 GOOD sneezes a day...

its a combo of things, sneezing is triggered from the central nervous system, from allergies, drug withdrawl, bright light as well, your nervous system is in chaos during withdrawl so its a stimulus reaction, also the running nose irrates the membranes as well. Opiates are also excellent for coughs, bronchial, pnuemonia, etc because they dry the respirtory up, so when you stop them for good you get all these things going on and its like hell on earth, add in watery eyes, flu like stomach issues and sweats, its like the flu times 1000000

I've never seen a definitive medical explanation, but the doctor at my rehab theorized that it was due to increased sensitivity after you stop the pills. For the same reason men have heightened sexual sensitivity, the increased sensitivity in the nose causes irritation that invokes sneezing.
