Congrats on day 4. I completely agree with everyone else- you are so so very close. Your mind telling you to take the 10mg is purely your addiction trying to feed itself. You must not give in to that. You take one now and when that wears off then what? It would be wise to toss anything you have. Your mind will try to convince you otherwise. But withdrawal is only half the battle-your mind being a traitor and trying to sabatoge you, is the other half.. Please hang in there! Wishing you lots of luck!
Thanks for all the advise. I guess I'm just trying to rationalize to myself cause I've only been using for about a year and have already tapered myself down from 120-150mg a day to 80mg to 40mg to 20mg....thought that was a good idea and actually it was cause my w/d really aren't that terrible. I have back problems and arthritis in my knees and have to go to school tomorrow.....1/2 way through nursing school and I suppose the stress is making things worse. Guess this is a good support website cause intstead of hearing what I wanted to hear "go ahead one won't hurt" I heard the truth from people who've been through it. Thanks!
I completely agree with liscamdave. dont' give in to temptation, it will delay the detox process and congrats on making a decision that will change your life for the best!
Hey you are half way to day 4 which is the day I started being able to funtion at work in a somewhat normal mode. I used after 2 weeks I know it was just a few pills. Then I went right back into wds. Thought I will only use this weekend to have energy to entertain and be happy. What a bunch of BS I feed myself when I want to use. USING will NEVER be the best choice for me. But I'm a real addict.
This forum is great. People here will tell you honestly how they feel. Some may say use. But I know for certain that is never the right choice for an addict.
Well, the very point in detoxing yourself is to rid your body of the opiates. So by putting more into your body, no matter how little, will delay the process. It may not induce worst symptoms, but it will definitley prolong the symptoms. Depending on how much you have been taking, and how long, will determine how long your w.d will be, at least a round about figure. No one can predict just how long someone's w.d will last. Everyone is different and everyone experiences different symptoms..or maybe more or less of certain symptoms.
2 days in is somethine to be proud of. And usually, its about 5-7 days of w.d symptoms..so you are half way through. I would stick it out and just get through it cold turkey. Just think, each day will get better and better. Good luck.
