Today is the day! Clean from methadone 2 yrs!!

I can't believe it has been 2 yrs since I made the decision to stop going to the methadone clinic!! I woke up on that morning and just knew I had to do it and go through whatever was about to happen. I was on 65mgs....I can honestly say that I didn't realize the extent to which I would be so sick but I made it through and I can also say..it was WORTH it all!! I hope to one day forget about that whole horrible experience but for now I am happy to be able to help people that are on methadone now and to try and deter anyone from making the same mistake I made to try and get off pain pills..IT IS NOT A WISE MOVE!!  People really need to know exactly how physically dependent methadone is! In my opinion, it's the worst there is.BUT it CAN be done !! It is NOT impossible. There is hope in getting off methadone and staying off forever.

hey there girl..there you are..lol. Thankyou so much. And you are right ,It softens the blow when you can help or try to anyway someone else. I wouldn't have known then that I would ever be able to. I was so mad once I got off that evil stuff and wanted to do something....well, this is the something I can do now. God bless you..

Congrats on 2 yrs!!!  Although i have no experience with methadone, I have heard enough to know you went through h e l l...But because of that h e l l ., you now have helped so many with this drug, and still continue to do that!!  Lisa, you have helped so many here..

Kim- You know how freakin happy I get when someone kicks methadones a&&. I can't believe it's been 5 months for you!!  You are FREE!! whoooo hoooo. I love you ya to death my friend.I know we will be life long friends..so i guess thats the only good methadone did..lol  Love ya lots and lots..

Bobo- I remember your first post and now you have 35 days..that is awesome. I am so happy for you,i truly am. I know how you feel when you know you are finally free of that beast. thankyou for being here..and being a good friend..

Vix- I look forward to talking with you ! your going to have so much motivation to do this after you have your precious baby..You can and will be able to do it..and thankyou also for encouraging me to keep going..

All of you are so awesome. I wished I lived next door to you all..LOL..thankyou so much. It has been a long well traveled road. I will have 6mo comming up from the whole pills ***@**** have been so focused on methadone lately. but addiction is addiction no matter who it bites or what bites..and I am proud of all of you too..this site has been a real lifeline for me and has opened my eyes quite a bit. Thankyou to all of you for being there for me since January when I somehow stumbled upon this site when I was feeling so so down and felt like my life was comming to an end..I have met some of the most caring and wonderful people here and I without question have made some lifelong friends...I love you guys/girls...thanks so very much.........
