Boy do I know that feeling - the panic, fear - no fun at all.
When I am freaking out, I have a list of things I like to do, that don't require a lot of brain power, that will keep me distracted. Physical activity helps me - I find it hard to stay still. Walks, watering the lawn, weeding the garden, I have also repainted the baseboards in the house - I just do bits at a time, I keep the paint handy and just rinse out the brush. I have cleaned windows, organized book shelves, vacuumed. Puzzles and crosswords work sometimes. Just make a list of odd jobs that need to be done, things you like to do - walking, cycling, ironing?
It also helps it you have a plan to quit, following a plan certainly takes away some of the panic - none of the withdrawal, but you will feel a little more in control. Stay focused on the goal.
Good luck - keep posting
