I have a question for you all

Can I take L-Tyrosine if I have to take 10mg of Lexapro and 300mg of Wellbutrin? I am also on Avacor (a mixture between norvasc and benicar)  for high blood pressure.

I have OCD and have to take these meds.

Talk to ur doctor pharmacist...i took 5 mg of lexapro...sometimes 10 mg..i kinda alternated and took tyrosine daily in large doses without a problem...i stopped the AD a couple months after i was clean..the wellbutrin would be more of a problem if there would be a problem  with taking tyrosine as both affect dopamine levels...lexapro affects serotonin levels and then the amino you would have to be most careful with is 5htp...which i took 100 mg a night while on lexapro without a proble,...these are supplements our body makes naturally and if ur body does not need the extra tyrosine or whatever, it will be recycled or excreted...but caution is advised and i would talk to my doctor if i was worried or if i planned on taking extremely high doses of supplements

And...also. it is good to mention, like sad also said...that it is very important to ALWAYS check with your doc before taking any new meds.....even natural supplements.  A lot of people do not think of them as they would a "prescription"...but drug interactions and problems are just as real.

I would stay away from the aminos while on Lexapro....check with your doc to see if maybe a dosage adjustment may be in order with the Lexapro...that isn't uncommon while detoxing.  If you haven't been on the Lexapro long..also keep in mind that it can take up oi 6 weeks or so to really do its thing.

just want to add..it is always best to ask a dr. about anything you are taking with other prescribed meds including over the counter drugs..natural or not..

L-tryosine is an amino acid and from everything that I have heard..You should NOT take amino-acids with any type of anti-depressants..It can cause seratonin poisoning..Please talk to your Dr or pharmacist..Definately stick to the meds your on and do not take the aminos..
