Coming off Hydrocodone / Oxycontin Addiction I NEED ADVISE PLEASE!

I was just discharged from my hospital about 12 hours ago. I have taken my ambien and I cannot sleep. I have this crawling in my skin and curling my spine feeling and it hasn't gone away. The hospital I was at did not give me any detox. So I have been sober from pain killers for the past 6 days. The 1st 2-3 days were hell. But anyway, now I am here. I don't know what to do.

Will these crawling feelings always be here from withdraws?
Should I seek my own detox (i.e. Methadone Clinic)?

I've gone to my 1st NA meeting tonight and it seemed to help until I left...
I felt that tingling all over like I am itching for something. I've been keeping myself inside and around family so I won't go make any stupid decisions. I want to beat this. I want control of my life again...

So far I am taking Klonopin to help with it a bit (from my Outpatient Dr.). But also when I was in the hospital they gave me Geodon and Vistaril, which were both terrible medications, I feinted twice from them. And yes I drank water all day. It just made me so drained and depressed.

Please, anyone with suggestions let me know AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. PLEASE.
I need help to beat this. I just keep repeating in my head... "If it is to be, it is up to me..."

I also forgot to mention that I take ambien every night and since the withdraws started I have been getting only 3-4 hours of sleep every day. Does anyone know of something to take to relax me so I can go to sleep?

Thank you for all the advise. I'll look into every aspect given in these forms. It makes me feel better that I am looking forward to NOT going to a methadone treatment center. Thank you for the hope and encouragement. -Sam

i called my old out of state sub doc to explain my wds to make sure they were normal and they are so quick to say oh go to a meth clinic.....i am on day 12 fight fight fight and then when you cant fight anymore fight some more.......i know it hurts and it feels like no one gets it.......like wtf??????i know but i promise it gets sooooooo much better dont look for another pill to stop one addiction it just gets worse...good luck

Check out the Thomas Recipe. it is basically a bunch of vitamins. It may help with your energy level and to get your body and bain function back to normal.

You May want to try some benadryl. It may help with the itching and settle your nerves a little. I wouldnt take it with ur ambien though. wait a couple of hours.

Yes it is part of the w/d's. You are over most of them. w/d's last anywhere from 5 to 7 days but you may have some small ones after that. Hang tuff. I would not go to a meth clinic. You are almost over them. Really great you are going to NA. You can do this.
You are in a great stae of mind. Get out. Walk, move. It will really help.
