EXCELLENT Response. I am an absolute fan of Percogesic, and wish everyone would try this over the counter product BEFORE ever trying opiates for pain. Taken AS directed, it is a wonderful alternative to an addictive drug.
DONT take more!! It hurts but the hot baths or showers help sooo much! I took Nyquil to sleep plus it would give me the warm feeling to relax too. I am also perscribed neurontin and honestly I tried CT before with out it and couldnt do it!! That helped me a lot!! The nerve pain is awful. I just wanted to die when I was feeling that. Your almost past the worst part of this. Ibuprofen and Tylenol helped too. Hang in there!!
I am going through the same thing right now. It's not my first battle. I relapse because I end up having to go back to the Norco that is prescribed to me for back, shoulder, and neck pain. I hate to see anyone suffer through this. I also am taking the PERCOGESIC to help with the pain and it helps me sleep very well. If th restless leg from the withdrawals gets unbearable I have to resort to my Xanax but I only take .25mg if I absolutely have to. Xanax is a controlled substance as well and I do not recommend it unless your doctor prescribes it. Take it only as directed though. Prayer helps as well. Trust God and He will pull you through. I know He is holding my hand for sure.
Just wanted to say....When I took norco (it was for pain control and I didn't abuse it) I had issues sleeping when I changed meds, and tylenol PM didn't do anything for me. neither did Unisom.....
Hi badback,
Just chiming in with everyone who's urged you not to take more Norco. I would suggest tylenol or excedrin pm if you need help sleeping. Please try to stick it out, it sounds like you're close to getting it out your system. Good luck!
Definitely don't take more. I used to do the same thing (quit CT and relapse after a couple days because the wds). You are almost through the worst physical part, and you'll have to go through wds even if you taper. Lee gave you some great advice: exercise helped me a lot, take melatonin and valerian root supplements before bed, OTC sleep aids, a hot bath before bed, a heating pad . . . Just keep it up and you'll be on the other side in a couple days!
There is a pain reliever in US called percogesic. It is an otc and can be bought over the counter. It contains acetaminophen and an antihistamine. It is quite effective in recommended doses for rebound pain.Aleve or advil taken with it also helps the pain. The Thomas recipe and vitamins and nutrients are listed in the health ages.I especially recommend Vit b12 1000mcg under the tongue, vit b6,vit d1000u,omegas with zinc and magnesium.Nyquil liquid without the decongestant helps sleep for a few nights .Epsom salt baths are super to absorb magnesium and to relax the muscles. These help the body to recover.Good luck and don't look back. The health pages do list some of these things.
dont take more!! If you are on day 2, you only have a couple left. The sleep thing was BY FAR the worse w/d i had but it does get better. The sleep is last to return....try to exercise rite before bed, read alot rite before bed--reading makes your eyes tired=you tired...try some OTC sleep aids...ask your doctor ( or any doctor...even the E.R. docs) for some clonodine--it helps alot...also there is something in the Thomas recipe thats helps...valirum root or something....someone correct that for me please : ) have you looked at the Thomas recipe yet?
