Is it dangerous to cease the use of oxy's?

I am wondering if it is dangerous to cease using Oxy after 6 months. The last month has included some binges of 500 - 900 mg / day. Those were rare. I am helping a friend taper down, and he says he has the will power to stop and take the WD'S as they come... but is there physical danger in him doing this? I know for myself that a slow taper helped get me down to where I was able to just stop... Any one know the answer?

It's doable, I did it cold turkey and I did them for longer so it can be done..it bites but it's doable..I wish I had tapered myself but to each their own.

okay girls this is how it works with alcohol. and it is not my opinion but fact.
men have the highest tolerance for getting drunk (pound for pound)
next is women
and than next is native americans.

(i had to attend alcohol classes in the past )

Thats a really high dose I am taking it we are talking about straight oxy right no apap in them. With that amount I would talk to a doctor can ask he for his opinion and hopefully he can give this person some meds to make the wd a little more manageable.

not sure about more girls having problems with alcohol than men?  do u mean they get drunk easier?

As a rule//ct off narcs will not kill a person..high dose tho...but 6 months is not a long time so in his favor..time to get off now as this stuff doesnt get any better/only worse..if a person has health problems such as heart problems etc..then a drs care during detox would be strongly advised....he needs to be doing some type of aftercare...support is so important right now..lots of info in the health pages-..and he needs to come onto the forum and post

i am usually against cold turkey, but with 6 months it will be probably be alright.
some people do not experience as bad a withdrawl as others. everyone is different. i have been noticing though that it seems to be harder for the girls than the guys.
ha yea, i know i am gonna get hell for that one. but maybe it is like in the genes. like girls get messed up on alcohol easier than guys. this is scientifically proved.
good luck to your friend.
