So 32 days clean of OXY's but

I started taking Tramadol about 11 days ago. I am tapering down this week and plan on going cold turkey from friday night on. I am going to my sisters,(who is very supportive) for the 3 day weekend. Can anyone tell me will I be out of the woods by monday morning, at least enough to go to work. And what can I expect for those 3 days of withdrawing from Tramadol?

You guys are probably right, I am making more out of this than I need to. It's just all of the posts I have read about Tramadol withdrawal scare the hell out of me. There is no way I am turning away from this plan. Saturday WILL be clean day number 1. She has wifi, so I will have my computer and be on here hopefully telling you how right you were that it isnt so bad.

Hi Randy.. Boy you have got yourself worked up over this.. If you stick with your plan you will be better off.. as many have said the wd will not be that bad.. You can help it a lot when you go to your sisters by staying busy. do not lie around in bed waiting to feel better It will take longer The more busy you stay the better you will be Drink lots of fluids a sports drink preferably.. you may have a couple sleepless nights but I do not expect more then this If the anxiety gets to you take your atavan ok that is what it is there for. no it does not give you the energy of the trams but it will help with the anxiety.. Try not to make this a bigger deal in your head ok You are tapering this week ? and even if you fail on you taper go thru with the plan You can not do this forever.. It is not Healthy. Your body is a temple You have rid it of Cancer now rid it of this poison ok.. lesa

That I am not sure of. I took less pills per day than you, but I am very petite. I didn't feel any residual w/d after only taking them a week. You may be pleasantly surprised and not have anything? Just go about your weekend and stay busy. What will be will be, and you then will be drug free. If symptoms arise, treat them as they come. I have a good feeling about this for you.

Do you think the three days are enough to get through the worst of it. I don't know how to warn my sister. I may just be laying around for 3 days.

Oh man, Just lost my post to you. Your going to come thru this just fine. Sleepytime tea helps mentally if nothing else, warm baths for hours if needed, cool music and funny shows to side track your mind. You have beat oxys (hooray for that) , you've come so far. Post often for support. Praying for ya!

I was just having the anxiety part of OXY withdrawal going on when I started taking tramadol for relief.

That's what I was thinking.  I don't think they will be bad at all.  I think it's the Effexor like stuff that is in them.  I am on Effexor and have been for 5 years.  It's an anti depressant.  I know when I forget to take it (imagine, forgetting to take a pill) I have little zaps and feel kind of crappy.
It takes about 3 weeks for it to even take effect and I think you have to be on it for awhile to have to worry about withdrawals.

Hey , I just reread your post. Only 11 days you have been on? You should be fine. I took tram for a week while attempting to wean from hydro and didn't exp any of the head zaps, depression,shakes that I have read about. I will be curious to hear from more folks on here to see their experience.

Unfortunately it is all or nothing for me at this point.

I haven't been able to have the discipline to taper properly so that isn't really an option.

Oh yeah and I am scared to death of what I am going to go through! I went through OXY withdrawals and that was tough. I am not sure how much worse it couyld be

I am taking up to 8 or more 50 mg tablets.

I thought the Tramadol would relieve the anxiety of the OXY withdrawals, which it did. But then I got carried away with it.
