It's been a while...

I had a full week under my belt last month before my back went out and I needed pain relief. I've been only taking them since then as needed rather than as prescribed. However, I have the next week off so I'm going to detox again, and hopefully my body won't fail me this time. I know my body was/ is dependent on the hydrocodone, and is really Luke to be completely off for a few months to reassess my true pain level. Any support from old friends (and new) would be greatly appreciated. Before my last detox I was taking 4-6 5mg pills/daily. The past couple weeks it's been 4 or less on bad pain days - which I usually have after over-doing it - a couple days a week.

Hi Nellie, so sorry to hear of your back but I'm sure that you will be successful again. I worry about similar situations in my life. On my Day 6 I messed up my back and did everything I could do to help it heal without relapsing just when I was beginning to feel good.

Good luck and be well,
Joy

I forgot to mention aftercare. These type of support groups (NA AA) can help greatly in a continued sobriety. I hope you can attend some as they can be life savers.

Hey Nellie.
I don't really consider this a relapse bc what are you suppose to do when your in large amounts of pain? Maybe a set back but no a full on relapse as your choices were limited. Plus as you said, you're not doing as bad amount wise as the  previous detox. I'm sure alot of people will disagree with me. But from my opinion, I understand - sh!t happens. All you can do is keep moving. You've got a plan to start clean days again, you know what to expect and that you can do it. Sounds like your mind is in the right place.
Best of luck hun,
Chels
