My opiate use was strictly for pleasure, I have never had chronic pain or back problems. Now that I have stopped opiates my back constantly hurts.
It's pretty common to experience different aches and pains after quitting opiates. It may only last a few weeks/months or it may be a sign of an underlying problem. I'd hate to give you the wrong info - but alot of people see that pain subside over a couple months; some people have to adjust to a certain level of pain they're not used to feeling. This can be a person-to-person basis... I'm sorry that's not a very encouraging answer!! Try ibuprofen or aleve and some stretching - yoga maybe?
I have constant back pain....but with w/d's I had lower back pain that I attributed to kidney involvement from the detox - - back still hurts but not in those spots any longer.
Yes, yes & yes,
My addiction started b/c of a back surgery. The pain for 2 years made it necissary for me to take medication. After that, the other 4 years was just an addiction.
11 months ago, after several failed tapers I totally detoxed. The pain was unbearable during the first week, days 7 & 8, then again 16 & 17 for some reason. After that, the pain was different.
The back surgery was successful, however when I over-do, I will suffer. During the 11 months (I no longer have a prescription or dealers) I've taken about 20 lortabs. This has been around hurricane season when I have to haul exterior items to shelter, or when it rains or gets cold.
I've bummed 1 or 2 here and there during those times. I'd always try something else before having to take the lortabs because I no longer had any.
Did I get a buzz? No, not really, but got relief.....however it was temporary. Along w/the heating pad & anti-inflamitory meds & possibly a cortozone shot, it carried me through.
Why do you ask?
