Just wanted to post my story and tell everyone how much this site has helped me

For about the past 5 years ive been on Vic/Percs/ any kind of pain pill i could get my hands on.
For the most part i would just eat them and lay around. Than one day My GF comes how and surprises me
saying where gonna have a baby. My daughter was born and still i was doing them and it never really sunk in
that i was missing stuff i shouldnt have been missing. So 5 days ago im sitting on the couch and she walks over
to me and looks me dead in the eyes and says DA DA her first words. I broke down cried and just sat there with
the stupiest look on my face cause in my head i new if i was sober it would have been that much better. So that day
i took every pill i had flushed them. And have been pill free for 5 days and feeling great. For the most part the days are better being with my daughter is the greatest thing and makes me realize no matter if i get no sleep or if i feel like dog **** lol that when i look into her eyes and she looks back that i will Sober and doing the right thing. Sorry for the long post BUT I THANK EVERYONE ON HERE AND I PRAY FOR EVERYONE!

Today was a good day after finally having the courage to post and let my problems out and than seeing the responce i was overwhelmed and knew that this was gonna work. After posting i took my daughter out for ice cream than we took a long walk and she loved every minute of it. And the whole time just being there i couldnt stop thinking this is the path i wanna go down the rest of my life to see every part of this world pill free with her and my family. And honestly just thinking them thought i forgot i was even going threw withdrawl.

congratulations!! Your daughter is so lucky her dada is going to be sober for her from now on... Now that you have made the decision don't look back!!

That is great.  Just hold on to the memory of her saying that.  Everytime you feel the need to take a pill, think about that sweet little voice saying "DaDa" and just wait for the day you hear her say "Love DaDa".  It is going to be so worth getting clean for.
