Hi...I was reading your post and I really couldn't believe that Immodium is considered an opiate. I never knew that. I wonder why they sell that OTC. But in my opinion if you are trying to get off opiates, I wouldn't take an opiate. Just sayin...
Its has an opiate in it but it never touches the blood stream no idea how it acually works but I know that.

It is an opioid that doesn't cross the blood brain barrier. I felt like it tricked my body to think I took an opiate. I do think that is why it works and why our digestion can become addicted to it, though it doesn't cause the mental craving if full opioid meds.
There's a lot of crap on the Internet about taking a bunch of it to help with withdrawals or even get high. DON'T!!! It is stupid to take a bottle full of pills regardless of what medication is in that bottle. Just sayin....
