and also takes mucho discipline to taper...dont lose motivation in the process...sometimes it is best to hand over the pills to someone u trust to dole out to u...however u do it just get it done..and keep posting
Congrats on having the discipline to taper...how long have u been on the taper??
That was a pretty big drop, and if you are going through w/d's , then it will probably get worst if you tapered too fast....
I was about where you were when i so -say thought i could taper....But soon realized i had no control and took them ..
Taper is meant so that you have very minimal w/d's, going to fast will just keep u in w/d's then whe u quit u still will have to go through it..
DO u have time u can take to detox?? Or do you have to work?
If u have time, I would bite the bullet and get it over with....
If u have to work or take care of small children, u need to slow down your taper, to where u feel comfortable but not high....
good luck

w/d is fickle. i tapered, had no w/d for days, then in the last couple here come the sweats, chills, and aches.
this stuff messes u up and u are going to suffer some. if u have the discipline, keep some quarter pills around just for times when something is telling u "i didn't have to deal w/ this bs when i was on and i'd rather be on than live w/ this."
I am tempted to call a source just for like 2 vikes, just to cut up for times like this. i am not goin back on, but suffering doesn't help either, it just sucks
I felt withdrawals the whole time i was tapering...when i got to the point where i was suffering everyday to the degree i felt very uncomfortable...i put them down and got it over with...good luck to u
Kat, It may get worse it tends to differ from person to person .You will have some rough patches but you have already DONE SO WELL.You can do this .... In the end it will so be worth it :)

Thnaks for your comment i wish i had your will power...i don't think i can flush yet, just to let you know some of my history...i have had 3 knee surgerys in the last 8 months the last was just 6 weeks ago (all on same knee) so i do still really need something for the pain as i am working now...tried to use tylenol but no relief so taking the 5 a day is the best i can do now..i am going to continue to taper and hopefully by the end of the taper i will be fully recovered. Thanks for the support.
Just my opinion; if you are down to 50 mg per day, you can quit. taper is fine, I guess, if you have the will not to go back up with w/d. I think you are prolonging feeling lousy, and would flush the rest and quit at your stage. Withdrawals aren't going to be fun either way. They just do what they do. The fear of starting up again, because you feel bad for a month, as opposed to a week, is my point. It's your call alone, and I wish you the best of luck, however you approach quitting.

Hi Kat,
I tapered and I wouldn't start cutting them in half until you get down to 2 pills per day. (I did comment on your journal as well.) You're going great!!
Melissa
I wasn't strong enough to taper but wanted to commend you for getting off the pills. i have read tapering can just prolong the withdrawls. Any desire to flush them and get the wds over with? I know its easier said than done.
